Thank God I never played adventure mode, now when I had learned it (being a legend and having a nice company - ye demigod, sorry ) I have something to do while waiting xd

Also never saw legends, always dwarf fortress mode, nothing else, when the waiting was "began" by the post that stated "finishing touches" or whatever I had to return to the game somehow <3

Also I love all the people who donated, You are all real heroes.
May the runes bless You.

I want to thank you personally for making that. Sums the feelings of many of us. ^^^
But gee, I really wonder how long this threads current topic (when the update is released?!!) is going to be relevant to our interests.

Another day dawns,
Through it I stumble, blank-eyed,
Today? Or not? When?

****

Have to go shopping,
Will be distracted all day,
By thoughts of update.

****

Then: A thought, joyous,
Release out when I am back?
Such thoughts sustain me.

That'll leave us with the last two quest issues, map maintenance, optimization, sponsorship critters, and the SDL fixes, and the same January-February release estimate mentioned in the January 1st report.

Then he was also fixing Threetoe bugs for a while.

So he's done the quest stuff, much of the map maintenance (today he said he was almost done), much optimization (though he never said he was done with it, he worked on it for a while), and all the sponsorship critters.

So that leaves a tiny bit of map maintenance, maybe some optimization, maybe a few ThreeToe bugs, and the SDL fixes, right?

Anyone have an idea about what the SDL fixes are? Will they take a long time?

Oh god, I want this release. I guess I'm supposed to be doing other stuff though (blah, school), so I GUESS I don't need it right now.

Yea, the fixes that Braugn made. You can see them on the bug tracker.

Does anybody have an estimation of how much time those will take?

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

A few more map maintenance tests and 10 bugs to go.

I'm placing a tentative bet on Wednesday.

Continuing on with map maintenance, this time handling building changes and fixing how the historical figure placement was screwing up the placement of treasure underground. I think I'm going to incorporate Baughn's SDL changes tonight. There are a few more maintenance tests and ten or so assorted bugs after that.

We are getting very close now my fellow dwarfs!

I was thinking more along the lines of this legendary champion, all clad in dented and dinged up steel plate, his blood-drenched axe slung over his back, a notch in the handle for every enemy that saw the swing of that blade as the last sight they ever saw, a battered shield strapped over his arm... and a fluffy, pink stuffed hippo hidden discretely in his breastplate.

At this point, I have to predict Wednesday, too. Precisely because I work varying shifts the following three days, then have company for a week capped with a convention to attend not this coming weekend but the next. It has to be Wednesday, because there's no reasonable way I'd be able to play. :P

I'm betting Thursday, because I can't really afford it to be Wednesday, what with that paper due Thursday morning.

I am in no way capable of making a slightly professional estimation on release. Toady has done some pretty badass bug crunching immediately after the 31.xx release, so I doubt the bugs will be that much of an issue. I can't take the slightest jab at the map maintenance. I'll go with Wednesday.
