smithing runes and **** like that.
« on: January 26, 2012, 07:36:21 pm »

god damnit, so I was playing df and I've accidentally deleted (or purposefully deleted) the entirety of a siege, will the siege icon go away? if not is there a way to fix this? Also do caravans come during sieges?

Caravans don't come during siges.
Maybe you could un-genocide them. They will suffocate all at once...

If you used runesmith to kill the invaders, the siege flag will never go away.  Next time, don't cheat.  Or cheat in a smarter way that doesn't leave you with a permanently stuck siege flag.

Remove the kill and death tag.
Next time turn half of them into zombies.

It's also smart to only turn several of them into zombies as though to scare the siege off instead of defeating it, works well and prevents bad things from happening.

so they fight eachother? nice.

So now that thery're back how do I get rid of them 3+ squads of moose mounted zombie wrestlers + 2+ squads of normal zombo wrestlers is waaay too much for my fledgling fort (I certainly don't feel like reclaiming again)

QUICK EDIT: thanks, if I turn em to zombies now will they scare off the siege?

EDIT 2: can I cage them all?

If that one bridge was the only thing saving your fortress, then perhaps your fortress was meant to be destroyed. After all, "Losing is Fun".

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

*Not familiar with runesmith* can you just kill all of them except for one, then waste it with a miner or something?

Yes.  You can add the "breathing problem" and "dead" flags to each one individually.

(I admit to using runesmith to tame wild animals that I catch in cage traps, in lieu of the dungeon master.)
