If Jim is scum, why would he defend and chainsaw a claimed martyr, then kill him in the night?

There was one kill last night. I'm assuming it's the mafiakill, so in the situation you propose(Jim being scum), what the hell does he get out of causing a martyr to win?

TolyK claimed martyr. That means that a vigilante probably shouldn't kill him and should kill the most suspicious person around. Were Jim trying to look like a vigilante, he'd kill you or andrew, as that would be most in-line with his suspicions.

So again, explain to me why scum Jim would kill TolyK.
