YOU'RE GOING TO SPACE CAMP!You eagerly look out the window as your private jet lifts into the air. As the airport and your loving family dwindles away to nothing, you return your attention the the jet's interior. You are seated with Kirk Fogg and five other winning contestants from Season Two- one from each team, come to think of it.
"So," one of the other ten-year-old's pipes up, "Mr. Fogg, when will we arrive at Space Camp?"
"It is time to tell you the truth, children. We aren't going to Space Camp."
"Awwwwwwwwwww!"
You look up, startled. "So, where exactly
are we going, Mr. Fogg?"
"We are going to the
real Hidden Temple of Quetzalcoatl, high in the Andes Mountains. Through your skills and bravery, you have been chosen to enter, and find the inner chamber."
"What's in the inner chamber?"
"I can't tell you that."
"I thought you said you were telling us the truth!"
"I am. I am simply not telling you the whole truth. All I can tell you is that the very
survival of the Human Race may rest on what lies inside."
Welcome to
Legends of the Hidden Temple: The RTD! This RTD is based on
the early 90's game show of the same name (sans The RTD, of course,) as well as a wide variety of other sources. You take on the role of a former champion of the game, sent on a mysterious quest to the
real Hidden Temple. Though if you didn't figure that part out from the intro, then you probably won't last long.
0 and lower- Oh wow- Your action fails to achieve the intended result, and your situation is made as bad as possible
1- Critical Failure - Your action fails to achieve the intended results, and your situation is made worse by that failure
2- Failure - Your action fails to achieve the intended result
3- Partial Success - Your action succeeds, but not to the degree you would have wished
4- Success - Your action achieves all intended results
5- Critical Success- Your action results in the best possible outcome for you
6- Overshoot- Your action succeeds, but the manner of that success also worsens your situation
7 and above- Critical Overshoot- Your action succeeds, and the manner of that success causes the overall situation to worsen.
Each player has your standard RPG Hit Point convention. In battle, [attack] - [defense] = damage. Rolling a 6 on defense allows you to counterstrike, while rolling a 6 on attack inflicts a debuff on the defender. Considering you're ten years old (and most opponents will be more deadly than your average ten-year-old,) combat may not be your... optimal choice. The choices are yours and yours alone, however.
As the game progresses, expect to find items and other things that will give you new abilities, or modify your base stats. Going into the game you will only possess basic equipment, however.
Want in? I need a NAME and TEAM- choose from
Green Monkeys,
Orange Iguanas,
Silver Snakes,
Red Jaguars,
Purple Parrots and
Blue Barracudas. One each, mind! You can also use Turn 0 to ask your guide Kirk Fogg some questions about the Hidden Temple- just post them with your character.
I'll be taking 6 players, but this Hidden Temple is considerably more lethal than the Hollywood Version. In the event of TPK, the next 6 players will start again as the contestant winners of Season Three.
The choices are yours, and yours alone!
