I like how they explain how each *alien race* came into life etc, and man... that realy show up how human react too haha, poke me ill exterminate you. They poke the human race with abduction and we kicked their arses, in real life the same would happen... exept we would loose because human race as a whole is a big stupid bully with *illusion of grandeur* thinking they are better than anything....

But you're better than those guys, right?

Speaking of losing guys...

Rest in Peace:

Femi Dioppe - Psy-assault, savior of mankind
Kieran Kyle - Sniper, was in almost every battle, died in final battle
Aidan O'brien - Heavy, XCOM's last casualty, not counting Femi
Sean O'brien - Assault, presumably Aidan's brother.  Presumably died in the final battle, I didn't see him escape in the final cutscene
Adrien Timmermans - Dying was the best thing he ever did for the world.
Toby Graham - I hated him for his name but he earned my grudging respect.  Fell to more than a dozen thin men in a late bomb disposal mission.

As for jocan, who says our grandeur is an illusion?  Having never seen any aliens, who's to say we're not the best around, nothing gonna ever keep us down?

Hey, we'll probably win a missile flinging war with the best of them.

This.

"Oh my god, look at the size of that thing!  There's no way we can intercept it with fighters!  Whatever will we do?"

"Nuke it."

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

SPOILERS! I AM DOING SPOILERS!

Ok now if I was going to improve the game right now... I think this is what I'd do (No Bug fixing in the list):
1) The Outsiders wouldn't disapear and in fact are connected with "Base fighting" mechanics that you can do multiple times.
-Honestly I swear that they must have planned on base attacking to be a bigger part of the game. If you watch the cutscene you can even see multiple alien bases.
2) Thinmen have their own "Upgraded" form which is a Lizardman or rather what they look like without any plastic surgery.
3) Reprogrammed drones have their own tech tree which involve capturing all the robot enemies. Eventually leading to Super SHIV units who are essentially become the equivilant of an additional role. (Heck, let SHIVs have AI and they can gain skills if balance is a big deal.). Essentially Shivs have a foundation skill tree (But the ultimate shivs would obviously require you to capture live Cyberdisks and the like. Making it risky)
4) EMP cannons force UFOs to land, rather then crash land.
5) Created weapons look different then Alien weapons (It was weird since I actually gained the ability to make Heavy Plasma and Plasma rifles before I even saw aliens with them).
6) Cryssalids have their own Upgraded form as well. Possibly a Queen of some sort who acts as a sort of leader type enemy.
7) My goodness give Cops, Bodyguards, and Soldiers guns. The Escort can be weaponless...
-I believe this was, as with a lot of things, a feature they couldn't finish because of AI problems.
8 ) The Final mission is actually a series of missions involving sabataging the enemy ship with an endless assault of enemies and inability to bring anything back with you.
9) Give Shiv some customisation or loadout abilities (Hey might as well)

10. Make base-building non-trivial and actually able to affect how you play. Spam satellites, spam workshops is pretty much the only viable strategy; change that, and the entire base-building side of things gets better.

I agree on the shivs/robotics things. Having SHIVs evolve into something as awesome and personable as Ghost in the Shell's Tachikoma would be simply amazing.

Centration. Similar to Spacestation 13, but in 3D and first-person. Sounds damn awesome.

I don't know why it was taken out, but they DO carry guns. All that's missing is the... guns. I'm surprised I haven't seen them in any invisible object memes since they are clearly carrying weapons in game, say they are going to help you shoot the aliens, etc. and so on, except the weapons are invisible.
