I do hope that doesn't mean that if you choose one direction on the tech tree you're stuck in that direction. If I choose branch A, and decide I dont' like working with it, I want to be able to go back to a different branch. There's a big difference between you don't have to/aren't likely to research everything in one play through and simply "You can't research everything in one playthrough."

Humanity can wait until I research and manufacturer hoverboards.

The best part I remember from Terror from the Deep was how you had to save those cruise ships, and how the last alien was always programmed to panic and hide in one of the 1-tile-wide closets in the ship. Of which there were 300. Fun times... not.

You didn't research motion sensors?
Why would you not do that?
Thats like saying that the game does not allow you to move your cursor without even trying the mouse.

If the alien's not leaving the closet, he's not showing up on the movement sensor.

Well maybe the alien just wants to be left alone and not have to face the scorn of an unaccepting society.

They way that said it it seems very very unlikely that that is the case. IE: Likely can not as opposed to can not.

I'm not entirely sure about TFTD, but in X-Com they made every alien at least rotate in place if they didn't move, so they always showed up on movement sensors even if they didn't actually leave the tile.

Wrong on all counts. See other comments about motion sensors.

I've played thru all x-com games at least a dozen times. Aliens hidden in closets without moving don't show in (surprise!) motion sensors.

That's like dismissing a post without even understanding what's being said.

Aliens rotate in one place at random intervals.
They don't just stand still thus making your point moot.

Rotation doesn't show up on scanners.

Motion scanners will only pick up units that moved. Enemies lying in ambush will be invisible.

more rokkits.
This is why I liked Malkasphia's X-Comathon, he didn't just stick to lasers > plasmas > heavy plasma/blaster bombs. He used the rokkits and the grenades and the missile tanks too.

I loves me some grenades, but I can never get the missile tanks to work correctly. They just...refuse to go on the skyranger? Maybe I'm packing too much stuff. I dunno.

You sure you have enough of the right type of rokkets? They need their own, and quite a few as well.
