Here's a slightly cleaner red version:

Click for full size version. I should be able to adjust the exact shade of red for you pretty easily.

Arx, thanks.

I cannot decide whether I like the bright red, like in Arx's variant, or the darker version better.
Anyhow, thanks a lot you guys!

Nice. What are you using? (Dipping/brush/etc)

I've also started Inktober, but my first piece is pretty suck because my fountain pen's ink wasn't flowing right when I started and I'm too much of an elitist to use a ballpoint. I should really just do another one.

I use a brush pen, really awesome once you get the hang of it, I mostly don't have the hang of it, plus I was kinda hungover when I was doing this so it got messy towards the end.
Other than that I usually use a Pilot G-Tec for really clean lines or one of the uni pin liners.

oh man Inktober

oh man nice portrait

I was entirely unaware of this until today, seems like a... Potentially fun thing? I am really not good at inking drawings in meatspace, because as anyone could testify if they saw me drawing digitally or traditionally, i am NOT good at nailing the lines on the first shot. This would be good practice, however!

As an aside...Shook, I've noticed a very sharp quality to the edges of your lines, making up most of your art in general.
Sneaky improvement. :3 Awesome improvement.
aaaaaaaaaaaa

Thanks Tiruin! Sharp line quality is basically the first thing i look for in art (at least when lines make themselves relevant), and i've always admired artists who can do like SWISH SWISH and have the most delicious and swooshy lines ever (Hukkanaama here being a good example). Besides that, i've always thought lines to be kind of a weak point of mine, but i'm starting to think that it's my painting and colouring that's lagging behind now. :U

I am actually not very happy with this, because the proportions are all over the place. Head too big, eyes too big for head and limbs too small. Mind you, this head size is AFTER i shrunk it down once, so imagine what kind of blimp it would have been if i hadn't done that. :I

Slightly less terrible inktober doodle. Still pretty terrible though.

I blame Steve Lichman for the subject.

Inktober? And I figured out how to do pen and ink dwarf drawings too!

Yet another reason to mess about in maths.

Ugh... I sketched this concept I had floating in my head for a while. With a pen. Today. So, um, relevant?

If you think this is not a bullshit idea, please don't steal this.

So now at long last the truth is revealed! Tinker has been a patent conspiracy run by piecewise all along!

Mosin Nagant rounds, huh? Are you making a handheld flamethrower revolver?

Mosin-Nagant would be 7,62x54, what I meant was 7,62x38, revolver rounds. Those are complicated* and not quite powerful. I'm thinking .38 Special, .40 S&W now.

*I though about how could I apply that gas seal they have on Nagant revolver, but that would require tinkering with extractor, and I haven't quite figured it out yet. You basically have to yank the whole cylinder forward in the end of the trigger pull.

You can make it a flamethrower revolver if you find yourself 20 gauge Dragon Breath rounds.

What's the point of double action? Firing both shots at once? That'd be neat.

Oh yeah, sorry, I've managed to decypher 38 only now. But the idea of 7,62x54 12 shoot revolver still sits in my head. Obrez would have competition.

Double action actually means you don't have to manually re-cock the hammer after each shot. And firing both shotgun shell and a revolver cartridge would be just painful, I believe.

It really says 7,62x34 because I forgot cartridge length while drawing this :P
I can't quite see how to fit a rifle cartridge in a revolver. They are bottle-necked, you see, and that calls for a proper receiver. Though you can just fit the design for very powerful handgun cartridges, like .50 Action Express or .454 Casull.
But that's a bit freaky if you ask me.
