I have create a small region world with abundance of minerals and hidden legends.(if it has anything to do with this...)
and upon embark in wilderness forest I found this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The interesting thing about this embark is that it is elf territory and my dwarven civ is at war with elves. I suspect they are waging war to gain control over this spire (cannot verify because the world generated with hidden legends.)

My first step after unpausing will be to dig into the spire and sealing it with a wooden floor. But is there a chance that clowns have already managed to break free and are roaming around my embark site?
I have seen in some other worlds that clowns sometimes flee from the circus and start new life in above-ground communities. Did it mean that there were also such spires? or do they have some other way to exit hell during worldgen?

Any other speculations/ideas of how will this fort be special?

Check the unit screen.

This could be huge.

dfreveal showed some underground civ and a bunch of crundles. but no clowns whatsoever. will they come after me from the map edge?

poor rondentmen are in danger too: their cave is exposed to the circus in a quite peculiar way:

doubtful, if you mean the surface; they possibly will from the hells underground. I say dig as deep as you can safely and seal the spire off with flooring. Then you have free candy! LOTS of free candy!

It's a bug. Getting quite common it seems. Search around for the Space Elevator, the biggest one yet.

Other than that treat it as a regular embark, the only difference being: no clowns and loads of blue stuff.

Congratulations, young dwarf. You have found an above-ground candy spire, a feature that is as cool as it is rare. It's not very useful though. Its mere presence screws with your fortress to make it near unplayable.

Here is another example of a candy spire, and this thread is the mother of all discussions about spires.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Actually, only the bigger ones do. I've had an embark with no less than 4 spires (not very tall, unfortunately) and it was quite playable.

Okay then. If this embark works fine, would you mind uploading it somewhere for our downloading pleasure? I feel like building a fort around it and protecting the spire from goblins.

...

There will be goblins, right?

yes, goblins, hostile elves, humans...

and just found out that both magma sea and cave lake are breached by that hell-cube and are currently flowing into the circus.

You shouldn't have any problems, the Demons will only be released when you breach the lowest 4 levels of the spire (assuming it leads to hell at all).

And they spawn in one big demon car directly beneath the spire, but if you survive this, demons will occasionally enter the map edges in hell, but will normally be content with just strolling around hell, before leaving peacefully.

You'll then be free to build your glowing pit-side villa in hell.

What could go wrong?

magma and water are just flowing into the pits causing nothing but lags. expected obsidianization of circus did not happen. so I will seal the liquids with dfliquids
