Spoiler: making of a world (click to show/hide)

Ok. So I'm setting out parameters for all this stuff. Lots of sand, lots of volcanism etc. After 10 tries it seems the game just wont make a friggin volcano in a desert... But it made something far more epic. Now I know what you voted for and there will be sand and volcanoes and rivers and clay... But its not going to be a desert. Im sorry. Its still hot. BUT THE WORLD I FRIGGIN EPIC!



So what do we have? We have a world with 3 oceans. Two of which are inland.
On the map there are two tundras. One of them is good and the other is Evil and they both have a civ(Human and goblin)
We have a river that seems to be like the amazon because it splits every screen.
Oh and theres also one place with a volcano that, I think, spans 32 tiles, but it has no river or sand so we arent interested in that... Hmm.... I cant find it anymore.

Also we have a map of evil. How convenient:


So as you can see its pretty evenly distributed. Thats  good.

the whole planet is technisally a volcano cause I set the parrameter minimum to 50. 

"Awww yeah! Crappy Title screens!"

So, now that the first turn is done we can begin. I am still awfully disapointed by the lack of balls a volcano in the map... The embark CLEARLY said that there was one right here. Who knows maybe there will be a pipe later down the road.

A few enterprising dwarves were sent out to make a settlement on the top of an ancient extinct volcano.
What? That's not real? Tell that to the tombstones over at the caves in the outpost of Firepunch!

Year one
They had build a small home. some rooms to live, some workshops and a growing bee farm.
Nothing much happened that year... besides four funerals. Some dwarves came to join them in their project... But what omen is this to lose so many in the first year?

Year two
The dwarves grew weary of the danger above. So they started guarding themselves more. They built a barracks in hope that one day any wariors would come to live there. The bees were buzzing, the yacks were... making noises. It seemed quite fine for a while... though still dwarves died...and yet more came.

I think that only volcanism 100 is "always" a volcano.

Well, you export the immage from the legends mode screen. Verry simple.

The world was hard though. I made it have low drainage, high volcanism and A LOT of nonsensical settings(Like only one ocean/only one mountain) ands set the only allowed heights to be3 either extremely high or completely flat so. Then I run the thing and let it ignore ALL errors. Whala!

Ok. Im back! Phew the fortress is going great! First year and already 4 deaths  . But thats ok because we still have 13 dwarves left. Also, this meant that I could give the merchants all the (litterally) bloody socks from the deceased dwarves. Theres also a good honey farm up and running. The dining room is good and Ive settled on making the bedrooms all be 3x3 tiles.

Il have the immages up in an hour.

Also, one of the images shows all the junk we took with us.

Three dwarves(ALL MINERS  ) were killed by a giant capibara. Its like mining is the number one cause of death but not for the reason you might think it is. Anyway, it killed one dwarf and I instantly told the rest to go and murder that thing. I recruited miners but the morons dropped their picks and just started wrestling

Also, one of the dwarves go verry injured while making the bee farm. He collapsed the ceiling and fell right on top on a bee collony...  That must hurt a lot. He has a lot of bruises but right as I was ordering the dwarves to make buckets, a doctor appeared. He didnt have any blue boxes with him but he did have some good skills in deasing wounds and setting bones.

Patient zero(the injured dwarf) decided he needs to take a bath in some old pond so he got up and walked there, got sick and died of infection.  ... Odd. And capybaras are on the loose as usual.
