Wow, lucky! I can't get past the tree-area where you meet the ranger girl. I'm on New Game+, my first one. I use Charme, because she's insanely awesome and fast. I hope this post doesn't get in trouble for not being on topic, but..C'mon, another Recettear fan! It's worth a potential ban!

Yeah, this is how I originally found out about the fun stuff. Clearly there was something down there worth making into weapons, and something guarding it, and it came in spires. I do regret it a little, but I also have always known that accessing a forum or website about a game will inevitably lead to spoilers. There's no avoiding it.

I always think of it this way.

Profitable caravans bring more goods and guards to defend themselves. This is good except with elves.

Inexperienced traders need to give away more dorfbucks for the caravan to leave happy. There must always be a designated trader and preferably one back-up trader in case of murder or the whogivesashits.

Yeah, that was a really crappy stage. But it's still easy compared to the 50-floor obsidian tower...

Look at trading profits this way. If you offer a 2000 profit to the trader when you ask for 5000 in goods from him, and he accepts, fine. Then the next time you offer 2000 profit when you ask for 10000 goods, why the heck should he give you the extra 5000 for free?
