Mildily horrified by the idea of crystal-pony converter things, but now I realy want a few to kill my innocent ponyfolk. Also, to see if there is such a thing as crystal spectra.

Reasons to randomly murder? Check.
Tentacled blobs? Check.
Downloading!
EDIT: How do you make sure that a civilization is ponies, not rainbow ponies, or diomedians, or cave ponies?
Constantly re-embarking is annoying.
EDIT 2x: My ponies (had to sort through all civilizations to get them) have a "cannon" body part.What is this?

Also, your second question: The cannon is the lower part of a horse leg between the thigh and the actualy hoof, akin to a forarm.

Tyranids are 40K.
As for civs, you first use tab to go to the list of civilizations near you; the one at the top is the one you're playing as. If it isn't what you want, use tab to go to the list of all playable civilizations and go down one, then tab back to the playable civs. Repeat until you find a pony one.

The current plan:
-Implement Star Beasts
-Search for other possible creatures to implement
-???
-RELEASE

...Ok, the Star Beasts.
-They're using a special set of material/tissue templates and layer plans.
-Not completely insensitive to pain, but much less than normal creatures.
-Layer plan is like this: carapace layer, gas layer, flesh layer, bone layer.
-The carapace, bone and claw tissues have a material that's somewhere in between taint and morphling tiers.
-There are crystals instead of organs, which appear as gems after butchering; also, their spectra crystallizes into a different kind of gem.
-Flesh reacts with catalysts to create star-cloud, which is a very light "boulder" to make stuff out of.
-Several different castes (Canis, Ursa, Panthera, Unicornis, Vipera, Scorpio)

Sudden brain light bulb mode, engage!

-Adamantine is now Starmetal.
-You need three times as much extracted starmetal thread to make wafers.
-But you can get starmetal artificially, by combining brilliant rainbow with raw star beast crystals (both kinds - the ones that replace organs, and the ones that replace Spectra)

By the way, the heart-gems of the Hakkari creatures should appear correctly on butchering.

Scions of the Stars have been added. Another alicorn megabeast with spouse conversion; this one has a starmetal horn and teeth, starbeast flesh instead of muscle and fat, and other tissues taken from the alicorn set.

I think I've added just about everything I've wanted to add for the next release.

I'll probably want to test it for a small while, and release the Version 2.0 sometime next week.

Testing...

Solved a major issue with the body parts of entity member creatures. Everything there should be working now. Although I had to put in sort of a crutch, reverting the Animal, Pony, Taint-pony, Superior and Alicorn groups to vanilla style material/tissue models, with materials added inside each individual creature and tissues using local_creature_mats; at least for the parts that turn into meat (seems that they turn into unknown substance otherwise, if the creature was a member of an entity - it WORKED IN THE ARENA BUT NOT IN FORT MODE. Ugh.)

Also tested some of the other new features, like the sawmill, and applied fixes.

Hoping to reach the alchemy by Sunday and test that, and then release.

The purifier, the rainbow factory and other things seem to function.

I'm already getting ideas about what I'll put into the next version. Things like custom demons and night creatures and... other stuff.
That's for the next year, though.
