Being a chemist, I don't need to shave to be clean-shaved :P

Silliness aside, my "beard" (more like overgrown chin strap, but hey, I like it) looks horrible if I don't tend to it a few times a week, so I'll pass.

I'd do it, but if my beard expands at all they'd make me wear a beard cover any time I had to do hood work. I'm not sure where we stock those, so to hell with that.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Legs count, right?  Can't get away with ignoring armpits, though.  That'd just not be good.

I'd do this if I didn't have alopecia.
(Although I won't be shaving anyway, so I suppose I'm technically participating  :))

That seems an odd place for a 'stache. Even a fake one.

Besides, a beard without a mustache is just weird. And frequently worn by bros and other assorted douchebags.

I think Mr. Balalaika Daggerstache wins that one.

EDIT: About the only time I might be able to get away with letting the beard grow unfettered for a month or two would be if the Hurricanes make the playoffs. The hockey playoff beard is an accepted thing here. And some of our players have had some beauties over the years.

Although this young man holds the title for Best Sports Beard, IMHO:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Punter Olaf Olafsson Will Goggans dresses as Santa for charity every Christmas season, so he starts growing his beard out during the college football season. The result is a beard to make grown men weep. Contrary to public belief, Will is not of Nordic extraction, and certainly not the demigod offspring of one of the Aesir.
