SD Gundam Capsule Fighter Online is a multiplayer third-person shooter game. With its fast-paced, easy-to-learn gameplay, Gundam fans and newcomers alike will collect a wide variety of customizable units and battle in missions based on events from the series. With over 350 planned units from across the Gundam universe, from the original Mobile Suit Gundam to the latest Mobile Suit Gundam OO, players have tons to collect. Each unit has unique stats, weapons, movement and style, as well as options for customization so players can really stand out on the battlefield.

It's been a pretty popular MMO in Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, being translated into several different languages. It's only just now being brought to America since Bandai US bought most of the rights to the Gundam franchise in the US last year. It's a 3rd person shooter with SD Gundams, and uses round-based combat. If you're a fan of any Gundam series, they probably have what you're looking for. Videos and links are worth a thousand words, though...!

And yes, all these videos are from a non-English version of the game. Obviously the English version will be in full English, but BGM is changeable to pretty much anything you want.

The actual website for the game. All you need is an OGPlanet account, then you can sign-up to Facebook or use an MMORPG.com account to get a closed beta key. You can even download the game client now so you don't have to on the 2nd.

If you don't want to sign up on Facebook for a Closed Beta Key, MMORPG.com has acquired 10,000 Closed Beta Keys and are handing them out. All you have to do is sign up.

So yeah. Closed Beta starts on November 2nd, two days from now. I was just posting this early so anyone interested in getting into Closed Beta before it arrived could do so. Just something for any Gundam fans who didn't know about it/anyone wanting a new MMO out there. I can't say I expect too many people to be interested in it, but oh well.

I suppose if anyone is still interested in this, they could get a Closed Beta test key before that time.

Hey, thanks for this.
My sister's really into Gundams, giant robots and the like and didn't know there was a way to get in to the beta without Facebook. She got in thanks to this post.

The entire game is free to play. There's pretty much nothing you can get with real money that you can't get with in-game money.

I don't think so, but Closed Beta has apparently just started. So many people tried to log in at once though, ALL of OGPlanet's servers crashed. So they're trying to fix that.

So yeah. Closed beta was extended 'till the eighth. Anyone else playing? I've been mucking around a bit, and it's fairly enjoyable.

"Normal" difficulty missions are horribly misnamed, though. I've been in probably a dozen now, and each and every one of them have been total wipeouts They're bloody vicious.

On the bright side, it warms my heart to see a swarm of Zakus brutally murdering a full party of big name gundams. I need to run a few more Psycho gundam rounds in the morning, heh.

I have no idea if they're planning on an open beta or not. I hope so, though.

I did hear from someone that the planned release of the full game is December 1st. But I have no idea how accurate that is.

I think it might an admin thing, but when installing the OGPlanet launcher, it shows that it's going to C:\Program Files(x86)\OGPlanet Launcher, yet when it finishes, the file isn't there.
