Mechano spider!

The forgotten beast Gyrculio Heroshumus has come! A great spider composed of white bronze. It has a spiral shell and it has a gaunt appearence. Beware it's poisonous bite!

If this isn't archeotech woken up to wreak havoc on the meat-bags i don't know what is.

"White bronze" sounds like a modded-in metal. Creatures made of metal are incredibly difficult to kill; the only thing that is really effective against them is a slashing weapon made of a better metal than they are. Fortunately, white bronze is probably not weapons-grade, so bronze or iron axes will probably be sufficient, though naturally steel or candy (or any modded high-quality weapons-grade metals) are better. Alternatively, use magma (assuming white bronze isn't magma-safe, it'll melt) drop a roof on it, or lure it into a field of spike traps (ideally with better-than-white-bronze spikes, and it'll take a long time to kill no matter the spike material).

On a half-related note of this thread, is an Adamantine FB possible, or is there something in the Raws stopping that?

It IS weapons grade. It's from Genesis mod. I believe it's part of the warfare bronze series (Bismuth bronze, black bronze etc)

And i'm not worried. Got a whole squad of legendaries decked out in candy for when it eventually shows its ugly mug. But it's something new to me. never seen one quite this....uniform? everything has been eldritch horrors so far. This is a welcome change.

It's actually more like an underground bronze colossus, only whiter and...crabbier, I guess.

Not that that rules out the possibility of it being ancient technology of some sort.

I think Toady One mentioned something about this in the Future of the Fortress thread, but I don't remember what.

I believe adamantine grants the [DEEP_SPECIAL] token that doesn't allow FB.

Ahh... what's that movie called... 'Wild, wild west' or something like that...

Had a giant robotic spider that shot fireballs.

+1 if you edit save and give that bronze spider fire breath.

It sounds like Benders brother. Bender, Flexo and his mexican drop out cousin, Delinquo.

I have a FB made of black diamond sealed away in a chamber.  Lured it in to destroy a door and closed a drawbridge behind it.  Then pounded it with a few spike traps (glass and bronze spikes) until it was chipped red in all body parts.  Still not dead though.  I'll have to send a dwarf in to decapitate it or eventually obsidian-ize it.  The former might well be a suicide mission since it emits poison gas.

The opal quadruped is down.

the bronze spider is down, had it's legs ripped off and then died. 3 pages of werewolves are now gone, time to mop up the buggers.
