Species: Crenn (Plural: Crenni Adjective:(crennu [It is a crenni abomination])
Description: A metre long cephalopods-creature with 9 tentacles stretching out on its underside. The creature has 2 eyes and a very basic temperature eye on the top of its head. The creature has no legs to speak of. Unlike most cephalopods, a crenn grows a hard shell just under the skin. With time, the shell can become as hard as the shell of a clam or oyster. A crenn can control its own shell growth to suit its environment. The hard shell can often a crenn the appearance of a rock or sand. Crenn have developed extremely basic lungs to survive in the shallows and swamps of the world. They have "quadbeak" in the nexus of their tentacles.
Diet: Crenn eat meat and only meat, they're bodies can't handle anything else besides the occasional egg.
Life Cycle: The crenn are solitary creatures for the most part, but during mating season they swarm in the thousands along the swamps and shallows. Males fight for the right to mate with females as part of their mating ritual. Once a male wins, the male couples with the female and after that both of them look for a secluded place to lay their eggs. They will then protect the eggs until hatching. At this point in life, the father or mother will likely be dead by now due to predators. When the eggs hatch, the hatchlings latch on to the nearest crenn and usually watch their parent to learn skills and techniques. After 10 weeks the children leave on their own, although even before this, they wouldn't be latched on their parent. The normal amount of offspring each mating season brings is exactly 15 and these reach complete maturity in 3 years and die around the age of 10.
Biological Abilities:
Amphibious: Can survive on land and water, but is much slower and vulnerable on land. Has basic lungs.
Shelled: The crenni can automatically harden their shells over time to increase their defensive capabilities, while sacrificing their speed.

Tentacles: Tentacles are great at grasping objects and can also be used for propulsion.
Basic Camouflage: While not as good as other cephlapods, the crenn does have its own camouflage. The shell can be made to be of certain pigments and textures if the crenn "thinks" on it hard enough.
