So I am in a theater class, about mostly modern theater, yet I have no clue how to get the scripts I need to read.

If you're doing it in theatre class, it's probably famous enough.  You could likely find it online and more than likely find a physical print you could order.  Where, I'm not certain, I've never looked into this.

If you can't find it, ask your theatre professor and I'm sure they'll tell you where you can find it.

PS - I'm willing, and I'm sure others as well, to look for some things for you if you tell me specifically what you want.

Well right now I am looking for spring awakening, and the fact several Google hits have tried to sell it to me, so I am a bit worried about mow much I am going to have to drop for this class

For older stuff like this, Project Gutenberg is a good starting point. I would ask the prof though, often they have them as handouts.

I can't easily find it online.  That doesn't mean it isn't there...in fact, the info I've found says it is.  It'll just take more effort than I have time for right now to find.

That being said, Amazon has it for about $10.

Are you talking the old play Spring's Awakening by Frank Wedekind or the musical Spring Awakening by Steven Sater & Duncan Sheik which is based on Wedekind's work?  Amazon prices them both right around $10, though.

As has been said, ask the prof if you need anything and don't know where to find it.

Subject of another topic needs to be "how to search for free things on the net without getting scammed" cause my fear of viruses are why I don't just download anything I see. but having the page in rawtext I can deal with.

Hopefully that's sarcasm. Google is very easy to use. Took me 10 seconds to find the above links. Just the name of the play, name of author and added "ebook" to the search and that popped up at the top.

But I guess I'e been websurfing for 12 years now I've got auto "ad-avoid" circuitry. EDIT: I usually have a remembered list of safe place to look for free things. Adding "ebook" to the book search helps because ebooks are the free versions. Occasiaonally adding the ending from a file name can help narrow down a search where you need a specific file, eg ".pdf", ".zip" etc

And when I saw "gutenberg" well that's a well known non-profit free ebook site. Another good site is "home of the underdogs" for all the old PC games.

The HTML version of the play is kind of ugly. But I'm sure there's software e.g. google a "Kindle emulator" to play the kindle version. Unless you actually own a Kindle. That would actually look cool coming into the class with the play on Kindle.

Yea, I Traditionally don't get things like books online, and the word "ebook" to me sounds like something you have to payfor and have a kindle for, but thanks, learning evrey day, except fridays, fuck learning on fridays.

Is this university or high school? What plays do you need? In university, you can find them at the library or at the bookstore. In high school, there are other means of acquiring them. The famous ones are generally in your bookstore.

EDIT: You're having trouble finding Spring Awakening? Really?

If this is not the only play you'll need to find, it might be best to take a different course. One where you aren't required to find research material.

Oh please, I am able to find all the info I ever need from anthropological journals for free, I just need a go-to data base and if Guten-berg has one, there is chance it will have more plays I need.

Also I would be INSANE to change classes now I was lucky to stay a full time student.
