I really don't think the army would appreciate me being offed due to politics...

With the amount Taric is looting, all the soldiers under him will be rich as nobles by the end of the campaign :P

Or that could backfire...

How?
Your greedy...
You Don't live up to your epithet...
You told soliders to kill innocents...
You burned down half of the palace...
You tried to arrest an innocent man, for a woman...
You tried to challenge the king, his men, or Trubaldsome(while under the protection of the king) to a duel to make up for the palace burning...
You loot everything and give little back to the crown...

That doesn't really make you look very relieble or trustworthy.

Angry soldiers do quite a bit of convincing.

In fairness to Taric, Trubaldsome wasn't innocent.  He just wasn't caught.  This game is seriously into Grey vs Grey (even Grey vs Black) morality territory by now.

Just a thought, mostly because of the whole gunpowder thing, as this game goes on will we see major technological advances? Like steam power, gunpowder, steampunk engines, ect?

Adwarf, you'll want to change your post since you can't sell any tin (you have no tin to sell).  Probably this means you either need to beg money from someone, pledge yourself into service in exchange for your upkeep or try and pull off a successful spot of piracy (or even just raid somewhere) before year's end.

Over a long enough timeline, but adhering to mundane technological rules.  Expect the kind of technological advancement you'd see in the Reformation - you'd need a serious Enlightenment to happen for steam engines to come into vogue.

On the other hand, Hero of Alexandria got a (wildly inefficient) steam engine to work and Alhazen had functioning robots (if only for entertainment purposes) in 9th Century Arabia, so... things will progress at a realistic rate, determined by the conditions of the culture around them.

I'm going out for the night, as a friend of mine is having a going away party.
Won't be around when rolls are made, most likely, so just thought I'd say good luck to everyone as (if tonight actually is year end) tonight's rolls are going to be pretty important.

Angry soldiers do quite a bit of convincing.

You have like two regiments. Kain has one and can raise another next year if need be. Not counting the fact that if you go against Kain when he is a made a duke, youll be going against the king and the Internal Affiars ministry...which as you can see, a single Pc can destroy a whole plan.
Your also not counting the causulties from your next battle..which will be quite alot from my guesses.
You have a single burnt town and a one ducat a year income.

Kain is the real power in the Eelspine by my calculations.

Have fun with friends!

I've rebalanced market values to a saner level.  I'm also adjusting Market Allowance to be double that of Trade Potential, which is leading to the rather interesting position that some of these goods are downright unaffordable by poorer states.  Good luck selling gold to the Eelspine, for example.  After I've had a shower I'll fix Hans & a'Valti's rolls.

The main balance change is that very cheap goods (e.g. grain & fish) now have much higher percentage returns for their bulk.  In effect, cheaper goods are now much more volatile than expensive ones (which have smaller variations as a percentage but yield larger returns per shipment).

Edit: Merchant rolls have been added into the turn post.
