Ashton, you really shouldn't be making use of OOC knowledge. Maybe take an action based on knowledge that your character has while forgoing knowledge that you have and your character doesn't?

I was going down the arc that I'll place my character's starting poisition in the Eelspine mountains, and after hearing the pageboy didn't reach kytuzian because he was Missing in action I could begin to aquire information leading to his rescue, that's fair enough, right? Just not sure how a blind ranger should go about an intel mission is all.

EDIT: I'll probably begin questioning the pageboy about location and time.

Anyways, if Ludwig isn't magical you're pretty much automatically in since the backstory makes sense.

Aside from the fact that in Elbreth there aren't any laws causing you to be a poacher, and that 60 hunters sounds like a bit much, I don't see the problem. Maybe throw in a bit more detail to explain motive and stuff?

@Vagel: The king holds court every day from 10am till 4pm, so you can meet Erik directly.
Or if you're not in Elbreth, we have forces in Preston and Miring right now, but no PCs are in Miring. There's also Kain in the Eelspine range who is always hiring, but he might be in Elbreth depending on what time you stop by.

Having lived near the ocean for most of my life, I can safely tell you that the clouds in those pictures might well be just a regular thunderstorm rolling in

In other news, Elbreth's military upkeep dropped from 12 to 5 in the course of this war. I think we could very easily sustain ourselves through constant conquest...
