Well, you started off with a seadog kinda person and worked your way there. I admit, thaty was before me. But the actual trading rules, goods and credit started aftere I started the first trade.

I'll fill in the barfight after I've had a break, although if I miss it anyone can take it up.

But yeah, I figured I might as well do some additional dovetailing with Mistaris.  I do like my Chekhov's Guns, after all.

Well for a non-merchant player the only impact of the merchant stuff seems to be I can now raid resources and dabble in trade occasionally for quick profit, and then the GMs get slowed a bit, so for most players it doesn't make the game much more complicated, or turn it into a game of bean-counting, I just see it could do with a lot of simplifying for the people who are involved one way or another with it. Then again for someone who owns assets or manages a country/land I can see how it would affect them... ah the good old simplicity of being an adventurer, also Iiteum are you still doing the warehouse raid? Just you said you'd do it a few nights ago and I wondered if when you got busy with the whole moving thing you'd forgotten.

Well, all that automation that's been talked about so much and the guilds will simplify trade and make it yield steady income. The more routes your guild has and more counting houses, the greater the yearly income. Its really a way for a commoner to gain status without being able to hold any land or titles. I am really poor at the maths or coding it myself. I rather enjoy the macroeconomics and the social/political side of it all much more, since I'm studying it for a degree right now.

The trade rules spawned out of a rather long and epic pm I sent iituem. The trade routs themselves will need some sort of limiting feature beyond the costs of upkeep. The main issue is the the requirement of 3 ships immediately makes it 5/yr in upkeep minimum. Meaning it require at least 1.5-2x that per year to make it profitable. The point of the routes should be to simply eliminate the micromanagement requirement and still make money not replace manual trades altogether.

Mauls, same rules as for swordsmanship mastery - lethal duel with a 3hp opponent using only mauls and win 3 maul duels.

Corpses... I... I guess the same.  That or murder 25 people with an intact or 50% intact corpse (half a corpse would technically be acceptable, but not just a limb).  Yeah, pull that off and I'll give you a +1 to using whole or partial human corpses as weapons.

The good news is that you're already 2/25 towards that (would have been 3, but you didn't kill Lightningblade).
