I've yet to hear any mention of this whatsoever on Bay12, so I figured I'd halfass a thread about it.

It looks like, as Aqizzar said to me when I showed him it, Diablo 2.5, and it appears to pretty much be what Diablo 3 should be.

At any rate, closed beta started today and it looks rather neat, so I'm keeping my eye on it.

Wonder how much content there'll be to keep you occupied to level 100. Hope it ain't too reliant on repeating the same instances over and over.

Considering it's supposed to be sort of an item-shop free to play mumorpeger, I sincerely doubt it.

Anyhoo, I got in during a massive fuckup they had wherein the server broke just as 52 players all tried to use the same key at once. All 52 got in and they decided to just... let them in, server instability has since been fixed, but they definitely weren't able to handle that many at once. That's why they're handing them out very slowly over a long period of time.

And yeah, it feels a lot like Diablo 2. Definitely fun to play, in my opinion.

Graphic style mostly. Diablo 3 got a bit too WoW-colourful last I looked.

Also, potions. Diablo 3 doesn't have those any anymore, it's got health and mana balls that instantly raise your HP or MP when you pick them up, like in some arcadey action adventure game.

I dunno how/if the skill system differs, as I dunno much about the one in D3. I think I heard in D3 attributes are raised automatically on level up like in WoW, while here apparently raising strength-based skills increases strength.
