I'm not too far in, but I must say Vivi has become one of my favorite characters in a video game ever. Such a simple little guy, but within lies a heart of gold. Whatever evil I end up thwarting, I want his pointy hat the lead the way.

Anyway. I loved the chocobo hot and cold game in 9.
9 also has a plethora of other minigames.
How you got abilities (learned from equipment) was also fun

Taniec, I won't spoil anything for you, but Vivi becomes a very important character later and you learn a lot about the little guy. It's a brilliant story. IX is hands-down one of my favourite games ever and it always makes me sad when people dismiss it due to the 'cutesy' graphics. While I'm not a fan of the style either, I got used to it soon enough, and it's definitely worth it for such a great game.

Yeah, all the characters were great in this game. I liked Dagger, because she defied my expectations. I rolled my eyes in the beginning, because I thought, "oh jeez, a princess. How generic". She goes through so much stuff though, it's hard not to like how strong she is despite her messed up life and what happens to her parents. (trying not to spoil ^^;)

FFIX has the best music score in the series personally, and it's a nice callback to older games.

I'll throw my hat in as well for 'really liked Final Fantasy IX. It was a refreshing improvement on VIII (for me), and the last of the series where I liked the main characters.

My personal favorites are Queena, and Freya.

This is one of the best FF games, and it has ton of extra stuff you can do, so that it never really gets boring to play.

Yeah, FFIX is definitely my favorite now.  It's managed to edge out VI through VIII.

Ahh... looking forward to how you feel about the rest of it.  I'm actually considering starting a new game.
