Aha, I can do a lot with this fortress, for the perfect fortress it's not very perfect, but seriously, this is the most mineral poor embark I've been on in a long time, the only usable materials available in the smelting industry are:

Out of those only copper is usable in weapons or armour, I have a funny feeling a lot of goblin equipment is going to be melted later in this fortresses history

Not that it's hard just really low on time... guy who opened up the caverns though... seriously? A building destroyer, door opener or flyer could get in easy, just build a pump stack down to the caverns for water and build a floor over the stairs and you'll be fine. But yeah, anyone can take it over as It'll be a while for me and the whole saying 2 days into someone's turn:

This is just an old succession fort I made years ago that never got off the ground unfortunately, so all the chaos hasn't happened yet.

The file is still out there in the database, a year 2 save. Evil desert embark.

Admittedly, I'm just getting back into the game and have forgotten plenty, but may as well try this again. At least this embark isn't as rough as my last one, which had no trees, no soil, and an absolute lack of metal besides candy. That lasted about 11 years before I had no takers on the save.
