Currently when you request ammo from the liason you can only specify "bolts" and they bring iron/steel (re: war) bolts.  I'd like to see a second category - http://www.olliemag.com

Well, yes. They are effective enough to use in combat, but also cheap enough to use for training.

Metal - only for combat
Bone - both combat and practice
Wood - only for practice.

Actually, i'd like to see that implemented for every type of good. You can request both gcs and cs silk for example, but only random metal armor and weapons.

This is a good idea.

Perhaps requests for goods made of specific materials should be accompanied by some extra fee or tariff on said goods, however (ie a slightly larger than normal markup)

I imagine the price would be higher through simple supply and demand if you request a specific kind of metal rather than any old metal.

Thus we need the reverse too.  I'd LOVE to tell the human rep that I want "as much wood as you'll bring" without having to individually specify "I want hickory, oak, walnut, mahogany, pine, birch..."

Well, were talking game mechanics here and wooden bolts can be deadly when used against unarmored foes, they are lacking against foes wearing armor.

And "important" foes (FBs made of more interesting materials for example) usually shrug off wooden bolts.

On the other hand, you can make lots of them cheaply.
