Funny DF wording.
« on: July 06, 2011, 09:35:10 pm »

One thing I love about DF is the occasionally "funny" wording of the way dwarf attributes are described by the game.

Dwarfs Like Terrible Work Conditions

Urist McDwarf has been very unhappy lately.  He has lost a friend to tragedy recently.  He has been dehydrated lately.
He was woken by noise while sleeping lately.  He has complained of thirst lately.  He slept on a rough cave floor recently.
He talked with a friend lately.  He slept very uneasily due to noise lately.  He has complained of the lack of a well lately.
He was caught in the rain recently.  He has complained of the lack of chairs lately.  He was caught in a snow storm recently.
He has been satisfied at work lately.

What other "funny" wordings have you all found?

I don't think I understand the joke. How is it worded funnily?

Or maybe there's a god who's just completely insane and sends you to Detroit, Michigan in a new body if you ever utter the name "Pat Sajak".

WoawoawoaWOA! He's the only one I have milking and shearing my sheep, and the animal pens are far from the main hub of the complex so he rarely sees other dwarves...

It could be seen as a double entendre.

As for me, I've always found how it words organ injuries to be funny. "Urist McPunchingbag's guts is broken"

Double entrende. "He has been satisfied at work."

Is your mind not dirty enough from spending time on the Internet to get this?

Also, was on the DF: MP and there was a notification about "Fill Pond", and i said "Am i the only one who though of Amy Pond at that announcement?", and then "Fill Pond, geddit?".

Just thought i'd say.

... And?

Also, one of the other players said Rory would object, so i pointed out that Rory's dead every other episode, so there'll be moments of opportunity. :3

lol didn't mean for it to be a dirty joke.  I just thought it was funny how he's had every possible bad thing happen to him while doing his job, but he is still satisfied doing it.

I like some adventure mode stuff.

You look like a mighty warrior indeed.
I am a cheesemaker.

But now I can't unsee the "satisfied at work" thing.
