Uhm... Do I add daylight savings to that? If not... I think that's 9am for me, I should be able to make it!
How's this for backstory: Pieter Hammertoe, a corrupt, booze-guzzling jailor to a sleepy town in Ostland, who has a foot fetish for some reason, was rudely awoken from his mid-afternoon nap by a group of citizens bearing news of sightings of a certain ruddy-faced elf, a suspected smuggler known as Lanoras, in the area. Grumbling angrily, he heaved himself out of his sleeping cot and gathered his equipment, namely as much booze as he could fit in his camping set, along with his mace.
Bla bla bla... Not really being too keen to hunt down a criminal on his lonesome, the questing jailor made a stop at (Such-and-such a place along the way) to re-stock on wine and attempt to recruit the services of the noted dwarven mercenary, Tolbrek Bjornisson.
Whilst there, he encountered a tattooed young apprentice wizard named Sigfried, as well as (possibly seated at a corner table, sitting propped up on an extra chair) the feared halfling bounty hunter, Bonniface of the Bridge, just
daring anyone to joke about his height.
Presumably, they all agree to hunt the smuggler, bla bla bla, and track down Lanoras, at which point the elf claims to be innocent of any crimes, Tolbrek demands a pay-raise to cover travel expenses (i.e new boots), Bonniface suggests they discuss it all over a light three-course lunch, and Pieter agrees that a drop of wine could help thought. Eventually, all the (money-hungry) parties suddenly realise how much more profitable it would be to team up and work together, and the all go marching gaily along down the yellow-brick road/dirt track/blood-stained cobbles.
That's just an idea, what do you guys think?
I'm just suggesting some way our bizarrely-varied characters could end up working together.
