Khan Academy
« on: June 20, 2011, 03:34:24 pm »

I have a feeling that this has been posted before, but I can't find it with search.

Basically, Khan Academy is a repository of videos on different topics (mostly math), that I find very useful. I'm just curious if anyone else here uses it.

I don't use it, but I'm a big fan of the idea.  I can imagine public schools using this sort of thing to reduce their costs quite a bit.

I'd heard of this before, possibly from a TED talk or something. Brilliant idea.

it explains things pretty well.. overly so in some cases. I usually end up figuring things out on my own halfway through the video. I suppose the step by step explanations could be helpful for people who find it confusing though.

Well hello children now to get started, first, learn how to talk like me.

Oh wait this isn't about me, hehehe.  Sounds like a good idea, these types of things are immensely helpful when going through three science majors.... Physics, bio-chemistry, and astronautics would be impossible without these types of sites.

I use a site similar for my extracurricular math stuff. Extremely handy.
