If you're looking for multiplayer games as well there's Wurm Online but... yeah... it's Wurm so...

If Ultima Online works like this, does that mean the normal Ultima games work like that as well?
I haven't played other Ultimas except for the UO, but I think they all have different leveling systems, and of course they have levels.

Which reminded me... Dungeon Siege, it's a fairly fun RPG slasher with leveled skills and stats. And there's the "Lazarus" project, which is a remake of Ultima V on its engine:

Also it's free.

My brother really enjoyed the Ultima V remake.  He liked it more than dungeon Siege itself.  :)

Ah FF2... I remember that game. I was OP from the get go... ^_^ Golden Armour, Sword and Fire Bows for the Party!!! Whats that??? I haven't even gotten the canoo yet. LOL, ROFL I will WALK AROUND THE WORLD AND NOTHING WILL EVER STOP ME!!! No really I did, I was chocobo riding before even getting the first NPC Party member. Mithril Weapons and Armour were downgrades. ^_^ Also all without cheating. Just abusing the game mechanics and a terrible Random Encounter Overlay...

Quest for Glory 1,2,3,4 and probably 5.

Didn't really play 5 but i'm sure its similar to the rest.
And the rest i really liked.

Best played starting from 1, as you can export your character into the next game in the series.
