I honestly don't care what color I have, so just assign me one if its taken. The color is the least important aspect of this. I think I'll go work up my OOB and organization. Should be fun to run a corporation. I wonder if we could work out a way to sell components to each other, like if I designed and built 1000 units of a new targeting system the mod could allow their use in ships someone else builds even if they don't have that tech when I sell them.

I think there's a way to do it, but not sure how. I'm interested in getting mineral, component, and technology trade going. I'll spend a while looking into it.

Ok, figured out a way to do these trades. I'll have to mess about with SM, but I can reasonably approximate trade in most anything you want to trade. Which is good, adds another layer to your diplomacy. Also, bribes and extortion are fun.

So I'll actually be able to design, say, an advanced laser weapon system, manufacture it, and sell it to another faction on earth? Huzzah! That alone makes this 3x as awesome.

Can you let us know our starting technologies? Will our starting tech (initial technology points) investment be random or can we bias it towards a specific area? Like if I wanted Space Inc. to have better cargo, engine and mining tech for example because that is its focus, could we do that?

Also, what will starting population be?

Haven't quite decided starting pop, thinking a half billion or billion, one of the two. As for tech, it'll be conventional (ie, near nothing), except for an advantage in one of the production technologies. Not sure how much to give just yet. >.< Game starts pretty much the day TN tech is discovered, and how you focus from there is up to you.

As for trade, you're not limited to Earth. You send a cargo ship from Earth to Ceti Alpha VI, and I am totally ok with you dropping off WMDs or whatever you're selling. You're not limited to just weapons, btw. Engines, missiles, hell, even whole ships if you want. Only thing is, I don't know how to trade wealth, so any trades need to be either material, or in exchange for services.

Also, nobody's going to know your technology level, so you'll have to advertise a bit.

With SM mode on, click SM Mods from the economic screen for that race and at the bottom you can change the empire's total wealth.

Well hot damn. That makes buying an armada with cash totally feasible now. Or planets, if you're feeling particularly rich.

Something rather interesting to do would be to train a bunch of ground troops and play mercenary company. Or, damn, you can do a lot, now that I think about it.

We will set up mining outposts, ship goods and people, build up colony infrastructure, manufacture ship systems or entire ships, or simply sell you raw minerals. Contact us privately with bids and we will give you an estimated time of completion. Pay extra for priority service!

We accept as payment wealth or TN minerals. We may take ships or equipment as payment for services rendered on a case-by-case basis.

Also I suggest we make an IC thread for this once we get started and keep this as the OOC thread, will allow us to interact as our various nations and heads of state.

Zorgn, how will you handle time? What if one person doesn't reply or send you orders for a while? Does the game go on without him?

Might take some fancy negotiation to claim the most habitable world in the solar system other than Earth... It IS possible though.
