Bear prophet after the black lord one dies. This is the way to power. Yeh'd be more likely to have everything researched necessary to pull it off, and hopeful be able to field a weak prophet without noticeably effecting your overall striking power.

Alternatively, spy prophet. Those are always fun.

Haha alright, Black Lord for now, maybe bear later. The bear might suck even more than I thought if I'm reading his wiki page correctly because I don't think he'll be able to equip anything (even miscellaneous-slot items) if that's what this "noitem" thing means.

I think the most recent Hall of Fame screenshot is still mostly accurate (except Hector and Sanne are dead) so the top ranked would be Hector, next best would be Kiron who doesn't really get much from prophetizing. That said, it makes a small enough difference that I would have done it if the majority wanted it, but this way I should be able to field a Black Lord thug prophet within... two turns maybe? I don't really remember the status of the Construction research, but I think I can make him some stuff and have him actually doing something next update.

Speaking of which, I'll hopefully get the update up tonight, but we'll see. I haven't had any time at all to play since Sunday, so I'll have to play, screenshot, and write it up tonight. I might just play and screenshot a bunch (those are the easy parts) and do a smallish post tonight.

Edit: Oh I just realized I need to wait a few turns before I CAN make a new prophet. By the time that happens, one of the Black Lord thugs I'm making might be number one in the Hall of Fame. :P

Here's tonight's post. This one's short and honestly not that interesting. I've played through winter too and it's much better, but I want to make sure I have something to post tomorrow if I don't get a chance to play. If I DO play tomorrow, I'll probably make up for the short post today.

Early Fall-
Epernia has also been attacked by Ermor. The province defenders fought off the small attack, but a spy stationed in the neighboring province reports that Ermor has hired a druid mercenary and his small army of vinemen, which might be an issue. Eshten is moving to reinforce the province. Kiron is also moving, but his mission is to begin the construction of the second Ulmish fortress, a fortified city, in Sermioc.

Mid Fall-
It seems that, in the scramble to reestablish ourselves, Mamor's contract was allowed to lapse. This could have been unfortunate, but no other nation seemed interested in his services and he will be re-hired next month. Also, the Master Smiths of Ulm appear to have chosen to branch out in their studies and a newly trained smith has gained proficiency in Astral magic.

As we had guessed, Ermor attacked Epernia again with the aid of the druid mercenary. The attack was repelled with ease.

Magic site searching has gone poorly with no new discoveries since the Hidden Forest in Rafabolia, but we continue our searching in the Stone Grave Mountains and Epernia.

Late Fall-
The attacks from Ermor continue, but now they seem to be smaller skirmishes, barely over 20 soldiers. I had begun to wonder if they had somehow lost their ability to raise the undead until I heard reports of two armies of over 100 soldiers consisting mainly of the soulless and cursed ghouls. Epernia already has magic support behind the province defense because of the Smiths searching for sites of power, but Cerne is not as well defended, so two Master Smiths are being sent as reinforcements. In addition, the Siege Engineer trained for the attack on Ermor is being sent to relieve Kiron of his fortress building so he can be of more use on the battlefield.

Well it hasn't happened by the end of the winter, but it shouldn't be a problem to get it done by the end of the next year. I'm actually thinking my dominion might just overwhelm them on its own if I take their non-capital provinces, but that might be a bit of an anticlimax, so we'll see what I can do.

So many double posts... oh well, I think that's the only way updates go out to people who are watching the topic. The posts are like 7 hours apart too, so that doesn't count as a double post... right? Here's winter. I'll probably put up a post with the yearly graph summary and the happenings of early spring at some point tonight.

Early Winter-
It seems that Winter is the season of Ulm's successes. I managed to find three sites of power in the Stone Grave Mountains (BoilingBog, RocksideSpring, StoneCircle pics) while Mamor found one in Epernia (Monolith).

In addition a mercenary skilled in death magic approached us and asked if we were interested in his services. He was hired so quickly that I'm beginning to be concerned about the identity of the one in charge of hiring. I suppose it is good to understand the methods of the enemy, but I still can not help but feel uneasy around his personal army of skeletons.

We weathered another Ermorian attack this month, this time in Cerne.

Other than that, this has been a quiet month. Kiron has been relieved and is traveling to Epernia where I am finishing my search for magic sites. I am told the Master Smiths have completed enough research that I am needed back in Ulm to assist with the crafting of water and nature-based items. It will be interesting to finally be able to observe the Smiths forging their masterworks.

Late Winter-
This month was even more uneventful than the last. It seems the last remnants of Urist's powers have separated from his body and are empowering a newly trained Black Lord named Knave. The Smiths are quickly forging magical equipment for him to use these powers to their fullest potential. In addition, another mercenary approached Ulm for employment. This mercenary, a sage named Dagan, seems an able researcher and asks very low wages, so he was hired. I have been asking around a little about the large number of mercenaries that seem to be hired and it seems that many of the council members are of a similar mind as I. The fortress in Sermioc will be completed next month and these mercenaries may soon be more of a financial burden than they are worth, but for now they seem to be worth their wages.

In my opinion the biggest use for Blood Magic is keeping a particularly useful unit alive via Resoration so they don't die of old age, I tend to use it on a Prophet I'm fond of, or who is particularly strong.

No, only three buildings, Labs for researching and spell casting, Temples for religion spred, and Fortresses which give a boost to income and defence, but they get that boost of income by draining the tiles next to them, so it's a bad idea to make two fortresses adjacent to each other.

Sexy gear before and afters are coming with the next update. Well, the gear's not terribly sexy because it's Construction 4 and pretty much Earth only at this point, but it's much better than what he came with!

Is there any kind of buildings you build in provinces in this game to help strengthen production/economy/etc.?
(ninja'd a bit for this, but here it is anyway) There are only 3 buildings you can build in provinces:

Temples: Spread dominion and allow you to recruit any priests that that province supports (I have no recruitable priests except at my forts so far in this game because the map gets rid of a lot of independent unit recruitment).
Laboratories: Lets you recruit any mages that that province supports (the witches, shaman, and druids count here) and lets your mages that are stationed in the province cast ritual spells, research, and forge magic items.
Forts: Act as defense that has to be sieged before the province can be taken, doubles income of the province it's built in, siphons some resources from adjacent provinces for use in this province, allows recruitment of all national troops (except capital-only troops). You need a lab and/or temple to recruit mages and priests, even if they're national units.

So forts kind of do what you're asking, except they're typically a ~1000 gold investment so they're not really spammable.

Awesome Bluerobin. Ulm is generally a nation which has no super duper combat magic, or summons, but with the correct use of magical items and tough units can get by. Watching with interest!  :D

Knave has come into his full powers. I feel a bond to these powers and it seems that whatever Urist stumbled upon while he was alive allowed him to tap my divine strength and use it for himself. Knave now has these same abilities and, with the equipment provided by the Smiths, he should make a fearsome combatant.

In an as-yet-unheard-of turn of events, it seems Ermor is try new ways of eliminating our Master Smiths and sent an assassin after Eshten this month.

Knave was given nine of the newly trained Black Knight cavalry and will ride out to Cerne to reinforce them this month. In addition, the fortress at Sermioc was completed and training of flail-wielding Black Plate Infantry has begun. Sermioc has access to even more resources than Ulm due to its proximity to the northern mountains, so this fortress will more than double our training capacity. Finally, Obscuro has demonstrated a certain amount of frustration with attempting to research in Ulm and has commented that his concentration feels like it's being drained away from him. He his being sent behind enemy lines to take advantage of his ability to disguise himself and to boost our information network.
