Also, I'm starting the '53 hours to go' countdown timer I have on my desk. Plenty of time for more entries.

*sigh* I am so horrible at not getting sucked into these things... I just couldn't help but shove a few together.
I've always been fuzzy about syllables, so I'm not quite sure if these are proper haiku's. But they're close enough anyway.



She is my beauty
Starfire, metal, and full fledged glory
She sails endless night


Protective particles
Blossom without, I shed my skin
They know the void's touch
(not quite "space travel" themed, but let's just roll with it)


Every ship a lonely isle
Neither heat nor sound trespass
Known still by starlight


The chaos of the stars
Where is my home to be found
Where is the center


Where did we leave it
The last of our humanity
As we fell into heaven


We are split with might
With reality we will reunite
Power you through the night
(What is it with me and particles, but hey, this one rhymes!)


A war fought in heaven
Shadows in the star's bright light
From heaven they will fall


A thread up to space
The only way we can gain escape
Else at cost too great


... ok, I could actually go on and on and on... But I think 8 is a good number to leave off on.

You should use these haiku's in a loading or screen, or better yet stick a random one on the title screen. That actually seems to be a bit of a craze. But it'd be a nice touch.

Just over twelve hours left, as the response had been so good (39 entrants to date) and the number of entries is slowing down for this last stretch, I'm going to pledge another three copies to take the total to a nice round 10.
(only problem is I now need to think of another three 'award titles' for the imaginary award ceremony ...)
