JunkQuest - Illustrated Tomfoolery
« on: June 04, 2011, 05:17:10 am »

Welcome to JunkQuest! You are a Level 1 Vagrant. You awoke on the side of a dusty road with no real memory or objectives. You are also stark naked.

Your HEADS UP DISPLAY shows a full GUAGEOMETER, an empty PROGRESS BAR and five empty SLOTS. You'll probably figure out what some of those do eventually.

You can hear a noisy fracas from inside the nearby settlement.

You wave at no one in particular.

JUNK:

As long as you're sitting here with a very convenient case of amnesia, you figure you should assign yourself a name.

Your schizophrenia begins a debate with itself about what moniker you should go by, as well as what your first action should be.

You concentrate until something happens.

Neat.

Not enough to shield you from embarrassment, but it's a start.

A question, if I may...exactly how this roleplay game work?  It can't be purely freeform, it needs some mechanics and rules, what are they? ???

The torrent of arguing voices subsides and you're left with a vague recollection of what your name might possibly be. You decide to take a piece from each suggestion to be fair to your multiple personalities.

You've decided that your name is Jimmy James Junkman, but for the most part people are going to exclusively refer to you as 'smelly bum' until you can manage to do something other than sit around and grow beards.

A question, if I may...exactly how this roleplay game work?  It can't be purely freeform, it needs some mechanics and rules, what are they? ???

You mistakenly allow the spirit of curiosity to possess you for a moment, before banishing it back into a dark corner of your mind. You remind yourself that all things will reveal themselves in time.

While you were discussing things with yourself a bird appears to have landed on your head. This is troubling.

That stupid floating graphic thing also disappeared, revealing a rather horrifying looking little creature behind it.

> Allow the bird to nest in your beard. Name it Frank. Spitefully ignore annoying creature.
You examine the bird carefully before allowing it near your prized beard.

Frank appears to be some sort of canary, but you have no idea what such a bird would be doing out here. You also had no idea that you knew anything about ornithology.

You set him on your beard and he nudges himself inside, combining their powers and creating a BIRDBEARD.

As Frank makes himself comfortable you concentrate your efforts on not looking at the little monster who is now angrily shouting.
