LCS strategies

I'm guessing that someone posted a thread like this before, but I wanted to know what you guys do to further the Liberal Agenda ( so I could copy if for myself, hehe ).  Are you peaceful, Ghandi-like activists, violent terrorists, or something else entirely?

Terrorism seems to be counter-productive I've noticed. When the CCS rolls around, their blatant terrorism will probably shift the public's favor to the LCS as long as they aren't as bad as the CCS. Despite that, I regularly have a 6 man elite team of M16 toting, soldier armor armed LCS Death Squad. I never got a police Death Squad before, but I'm confident they can beat them in a gunfight. They can easily take down an entire 12 man SWAT team.

I usually bust into the latte stand and abduct dangerous people after shooting them a few times, then I interrogate them and make them give up information. This doesn't work well to convert, though.

In a few versions past, credit card fraud didn't produce heat. Apparently it does now though, so it isn't good to do that for extended periods of time.

Wait, the CCS still backfires? I thought the reason the Political Violence was removed was to give CCS a higher chance of their terrorism working!

I assume it does, since in reality most people wouldn't support terrorists.

Actually, IIRC the very reason CCS was getting a lot of rampages was caused by the fact that the rampage/strike decision was made based on the raid's effect, causing the CCS actually benefit from rampages! I could be wrong though.

It's supposed to adjust for the CCS and flip the criteria for a rampage if they do. The history of bugs in that code is extensive though, so I won't swear by it.

Yeah, I meant that there used to be such a bug, which caused CCS to appear even more inept than they actually were. I'm fairly sure it has been fixed for quite a while now.

This thread is starting to turn into a discussion about the CCS...  ???

Well, CCS is an important part of LCS strategy! It makes the use of force necessary for a while. Before CCS, one can stick to the Guardian and sleeper rule, and after CCS is done it's all about finishing touches.

The CCS is actually very dangerous, they have better car-chase skills than the cops. Their sieges are also more deadly in my experience, mostly since they don't use shitty MP5 SMGs and shotguns like the cops.

Two more possibilities:

- Thief: Steals documents and publishes them, sneaks deep into locations to activate their site specials
- Sleepers: Kidnap lots of people (which avoids recruitment caps) and have them change the world behind the scenes

Back in the olden days (circa 2006), the sleeper strategy completely dominated all other strategies.

I'm just sad the CCS dies out. I mean, it's the most exciting part of LCS getting rid of them. OTOH it would really suck if they kept popping back every two weeks.

Personally, I'd postpone the CCS outbreak so it wouldn't happen almost immediately when there appear signs of Liberalism such as non C+ pollution laws or anything. The LCS starts action when society is about to become very conservative because of C+ president and Conservative Congress (or when it's about nightmare starts, even later). Having CCS also start later, only when the "threat" of Liberalism appears significant (but before ELAs), would shift the focus better.

And about thief strategy, more site specials would be good for flavor, fun and profit. I had a funny idea yesterday about snatching a Police Radio and ordering some cops to attack the CCS to weaken them... (evil grin)

Anyway, I always take the terrorism/murder/robbery/etc. strategy. Anybody who has killed a man on my teams has killed 100 at least.

Problem is, the po-po always manage to find my teams everywhere. Jonathan, I suggest you make it so that shutting down the PD will make the police lose track of you, or perhaps you could break in and burn important documents or some-such.

Having the CCS continuously respawn doesn't make sense unless the LCS gets the same power. Which isn't out of the question, actually. You could have a ten year LCS-less advancement every time the organization is wiped out before another Founder steps up to restart the cause. Of course, this happening too much would allow the Arch-Conservatives to pass their amendment.

Actually, in the latest trunk (and the latest version too I think) the heat will dissipate when the Station is closed, instead of "freezing" like in the historically significant versions of the last year. However, heat is the penalty for using an otherwise easy and fast strategy of killing and killing more. You can get rid of it by community service, which reduces heat enough to shake off one murder in about a week and one terrorism/treason in about a month. I have no clue on how fast this works, but I trust Jon when he said that Safehouse Squaredance now actually shakes off heat. Get enough safehouses and start dancing. Any easy way for losing lots of heat would be overpowered.

And CCS respawning isn't probably too good an idea, while it could be an option. Making them start later on would balance the tension better. Also, the C+ Reagan Amendment should happen easier. I think it takes decades, even on nightmare starts!
