If that fails, then unleash cat indeed. It will probably be the only cat in the entire dwarven history to slaughter a Forgotten Beast single-pawedly.

That cat would then be raised into the annals of legend and would proceed to adopt Cacame.

Dwarves would probably engrave pictures of that bloody cat for the next hundred years, too.
WIN.

It will be the only cat worthy of Cacame.

And Cacame would be the only adoptee worthy of that cat.

What's wrong with using magma? That's almost always the easiest method.
I have issues channeling it properly to do that method. I end up flooding the fortress with magma.

And we'll be talking about that cat for the next [period of time DF will live here].

We need the OP to use the cat for !!Science!!.

If he wins, he will go down in history. If he loses, there's one less cat.

Except the cat. For him it's win-lose, but for everyone else it's WIN-WIN!

Titmouse ? Fail species name is fail.

Anyways, if it blinks in hue it is normal, cause it's legendary/unique. If it blinks like a vermin... either it is flying and switching Z-levels, or there is a serious problem.

Unnecessary details.

But isn't unnecessary details the heart of Dwarf Fortress?

I opened the caverns killed all the other FBs in there but the vermin FB won't even path to my fortress its just blinking around down there and my military won't kill it. I pastured a dozen cats down there and sealed the caverns back up. I of course un pastured the cats so now they are freely roaming around down there. So far the FB has killed 5 cats but its ok I put 12 females down there with the male up top so they are replenishing. I will report and progress.

Edit: Funny as well, while the military won't engage it the cats path toward it to kill it. However, there is no combat report except for the cat being killed by the FB syndrome attack. I wonder if the actual kill by the cat will even have a combat report.

No, that's using magma to kill elves.

I guess the cats will either kill the fb or your fps. Either way, they win.

You really, really must upload a copy of this fort. The earliest save after you found the vermin FB. This would be a nice little challenge for players. Pretty please?

Can't you also trap and then train vermin? A syndrome causing mini-pet would be funny as hell. Or as has been said, the final solution to catsplosion.

I wonder how big this thing is? Are we talking about an 8 tonne, eyeless, dribbling vermin that could be potentially carried by a dwarf as a pet? Or even carried in a pocket?

If we can get it trapped before it has attacked anything, then this thing will be made of win. Find a dwarf that likes titmice, put them in a room together, wait for =science= to occur.

"What has it got in it pocketses?"
