Battle for Wesnoth, thread the second
« on: May 21, 2011, 07:46:10 pm »

After digging up the first thread, I decided it was a little too unappealing to revive, so I put it back in it's grave and decided to do this the ordinary way... *sigh*

So from what I understand there's a fair bit of interest in getting some wesnoth games together. I'm fairly interested myself so I figured it was thread time.
It might be a good idea to see if we can get some kind of chat system together. I know some people would be interested in voice chat (I can't always talk because of noise issues, but I might like to), and it may be easier to get games organized that way.

So, volunteers, suggestions? Anyone?

I'd be willing to play some Wesnoth some time.  I don't have a mic though.

It was more about facilitating those who do, it's not like you're obliged to talk, and frankly I doubt I'd be doing much of it myself. I also do enjoy hearing other people's voices, it distracts me from the other voices ;).

I like the zombies best. It seems that unlike other people *AHEM* Humans *AHEM* these guys always hold out for you. Heh, one time, on multiplayer, a lucky zombie got the avatar dryad down to 1/3 health. Needless to say, he got the finishing  blow.

I'm a Wesnoth fan too. Haven't played it in a longer while, so it might be a good time to derustify my mad skillz.
While I do have a mike, I've never tested it, my English might turn out to be rubbish at times, and my ancient laptop might not be able to run any overly fancy chat clients. Also, I'm GMT+1, so I might not be able to talk for the fear of waking up my flatmates. Still, a fun idea.

I would try it, I looked it up after seeing it in the happy thread and it looks sorta cool. Never played it before and I have no mic, but I would like to try it.

As much as I like Wesnoth, I'm about as good at it as a elf is at mining. I can't even beat the basic campaign!  :-[

I believe we're talking about full scale colonisation here.  You don't just leave all your shit in the van when you move house.

I'd like to do multiplayer. Warning though: I am not very good with these kind of games.
I'll probably end up cannon fodder for everyone else.
Also, I don't do voice chatting. Text chats, anyone?

Time I can do: Probably anytime tomorrow or the day after. I'm in PST.

I play a bit of Wesnoth, might be up for a game. No mic again, and I'm in GMT+1 (British Summer Time.).

I don't have any mad skillz, and I'm a Human or Elf player. Mostly rely on mad luck. It works fairly well.

Wow, when solifuge said there was quite a lot of interest he wasn't wrong, so I guess we should try to organize a game then... how about tomorrow at 7pm GMT ( 8pm BST, 3pm EST ) tomorrow? The size of the game will have to depend on how many people we an get to show up.

What is this...Wesnoth.
Turn-based tactical strategy.

I downloaded it two days ago, and I have to say I'm enjoying it so far (although I suck royally, ha ha).

I'm pretty horrible, but I like to play it. I guess. I do mods sometimes too, but I'm not sure if any are on the version I have downloaded right now.

Pretty cool game. Got owned by Solifuge. Sadly, I am unable to use voice chat.
