If you want to move fast sideways, ASPHALT. That stuff is amazing. You can move faster than Hermes Boots speed.

Oh, and if you want to move faster than terminal velocity downward... teleporters. We've got one straight from the overworld to Hell. Took a lot of wire, though. :P

Isn't there a cap on how much wire can be used in a circuit before it malfunctions?  I'm sure there's more than 1000 blocks from the surface down to hell.


Speaking of vast distances, I've decided that I'm fed up with the biome spread and I don't want to think about it creeping up on my lawn.  To treat the situation, I have started digging a tunnel that will one day become an underground highway.  6 blocks tall at the moment (and I'm using the stone to cook up asphalt to eventually pave it properly), and I've just made it from the edge of the world over to the dungeon.  Roughly 1/6th of the world's length.


It's a long, hard, tedious road ahead of me...  But eventually I will succeed in separating the surface from the underworld completely, and be able to start cleansing the world above for good.

It's a little deep down for an easy spraying, due to me wanting to save the oceans.  However, we'll just have to clentaminate it from both sides and hope for the best...  If any biome blooms appear, we'll just have to dig into the crust a bit to see where it all started, and stamp it out.  Entirely doable at that point.

The rest of the underworld can, for lack of a better phrase...  Go to Hell.

Ah, I think the reason why NPCs weren't spawning was because there was a goblin army going on that I forgot about. I was spending most of my time underground, or on the surface where the army wasn't, so it wasn't defeated yet.

If I were you, I'd instead contain a few areas of corruption/crimson and hallow, simply for the mob drops.

That can be decided afterwards.  Right now, the goal is to get the surface separated from the gigantic festering clump of crimson/hallow that is the underground, and get to cleansing the topical areas before the spread gets completely out of hand.

If/when we decide we really want surface areas for vertebrae and pixie dust/unihorns, or simply for posterity, then we can do that after the hard part is done.  There are plenty of corrupt seeds and vials of red solution.

From the main menu select Multiplayer then Host & Play.
in the steam folder for the game, is the server hosting thingy to do a dedicated server, aka, idle without you might dying, I think anyway.

A guide to shadewood/ebonwood farming!

Materials:
1:Clentaminator (If you use solutions.)
2A:Corrupt seeds or purple solution.
2B: Red solution.
3:Staff of regrowth or regular grass seeds.
4:Green solution or purification powder.
5: Acorns.

First you will need a large flat patch of dirt to construct the basis for your farm to grow its crops. Once you have that done spread NORMAL grass on the dirt. After that you have to plant your saplings on the normal grass as it will only plant then. Corrupt/Crimsonify your dirt turning your trees into ebonwood or shadewood respectively. Clear your trees out, and turn the Corruption/Crimson back into normal grass. Plant acorns, rinse repeat.

Ah, so that was you leaving pressure plates linked to explosives everywhere?

Probably should carry around a wrench to see those wires.
