Rainbow gun + butterfly wings + pink & silver dye = Best.

Also, the rune mage robe is cool.
I've always been wondering about the dye given that I can match..2 out of 3 of these requirements :3

...How does the dye work? Does it affect the vanity armor or the real armor?

Seems to vary. I can recolor my vanity mining helmet but not my vanity Wizard hat.

Yes. Rather, it effects whichever is currently visible.

Mostly. I think I've seen some armors that didn't really react, but that may just be my memory buggering up. S'on a per-item basis regarding that, I methinks. Anyway. Get dye, mix dye (if desired), equip dye. Glorious purple.

Also some of them (at least red + silver) give certain armors (shroomite rifle helmet) the most unsettling stares...

Some dyes add color, which for dark items such as the wizard's hat, don't show up as much, while others will replace colors, like the silver dye replaces the item's color with something lighter.

I finally got full rainbow dyes, just need 1 more orange to go full Intense Rainbow.  The fairy setup works pretty well with the frost armor look, that helmet is adorbs.

There are a few pieces that screw up or are bugged (or at least were buggy looking). Blue flame dye on the Skeletron mask just makes it matte blue, for example.

Boo! The update gave the heat ray Mana cost making it useless now.

It was actually a really nice magic weapon that took no mana.

Well, managed to go thru everything (or at least enough) in a solo medium world, just before patch:
Had turtle armor and about 102 defense, before buffs.  Got to jungle temple, poured honey everywhere, made a heart statue contraption and a crab-pit in case I needed it, came in with black belt and that star cloak thingy that gives you extra time between hits and shoots stars... campfires everywhere, goblin spike balls everywhere, platforms setup, door blocked to keep mobs out....

And then the boss only did 1 damage most of the time, and got stuck in the top of the room where I had made platforms.  /completelyoverprepared

Ah well, killed him 7 times in a row quite quickly, now done with Terraria again, guess time to go back to waiting for Starbound (sans a really cool update, don't care too much about rebalance/bugfixes, and didn't care to play paintshop online again).

I just got a blood moon, solar eclipse, and then another blood moon... followed by yet another blood moon the next night.

I'm kinda tired of solar events now.

So I had a go with the melee titanium armor, a mushroom spear, and a fire flask vs the Destroyer. It was a glorious battle, but brief. That combination tore it apart. Mushroom spear is the best spear.

Yes, darn them fixing these free money exploits and making magic weapons actually use mana. Its like they want some semblance of balance or something.
