Well, hellstone tier equipment is just a teeny bit out of reach for someone worrying about dying to EoW.

for me, the shadow orbs that I destroyed to summon him dropped a vilethorn, which is quite handy against him, since he runs through it, damaging many many segments.

I'd say the most important tool for fighting EOWs would be a Hunter potion. It's infinitely easier to survive with one of those.

Know whats cool about servers? You can get stuff from the community chests and then use it to build stuff to yer singleplayer game. I was outta potions, so I farmed 10 stacks of glowing mushrooms. Also, when the spawnrate is tripled, farming stuff is easier than it is in SP. I mean, battle potion + water candle + sevrer's tripled spawnrate = mass amounts of glowsticks. And slimes. Which means, mass amounts of sticky glowsticks.

The DF server is still up I believe, there's quite a few players and the chests are "mostly" open for everyone. Mind your manners though, and Mind the Signs.

There aren't any limits besides knowing the password (PM KaelGotDwarves for it). The server had boosted spawn rate/spawn max when I was there a few days ago, so watch yourself in hell or the dungeon. Not really much reason to head to either since the chests were probably cleaned out about a few days in.

Whether you want to take items for personal use is up to you; some players advocate that the best way to build up a character is with your own strength. There's nothing wrong with getting a little boost here and there, but try not to spoil yourself.

Can't you buy glowsticks?

Also, slime gel is so abundant even with regular travel that I end up with multiple stacks as it is. They should probably make it ammo of some sort, like a watergun or bow that shoots bouncing projectiles made of gel.

I keep summoning the EOW by smashing his balls. But then it never shows up.

I'm going to keep going, maybe i'll get lucky and the meteor won't hit my skybridge. Again.

So it says he has awakened but you never see him? Does the music change as it is supposed to?

I think I saw part of it on my skybridge, but even on the ground it's hit and miss.

Yeah I've noticed that too.

Supposedly he spawns a random distance away from you, but since he disappears if he enters non-corrupt areas. So I'm guessing he spawned outside of corruption and promptly disappeared.

Then again, the same thing happens with the EoC, so perhaps the distance they're spawned at is just too far away.
