One of you posted a link to the dev blog a few pages back.

It's just some things the is thinking of doing at some point. Might just be ideas though.

ATM, it's just ideas floating around in his head.

When they are released, you'll have to make a new world to experience any new biomes. Invasions and the like will (probably) work on older worlds, presuming they aren't tied to a new block. Basically, anything that's added after world generation should work fine in a pre-existing world.

Note that this also presumes that the code is structured in such a way as to allow logical assumptions like this. After the CiaB fall-damage bug, and the Molten Fury/wooden arrow bug, I'm not certain that's a safe presumption...  ::)

How common are Shadow Gems in Large worlds? I just genned a world with 25 of them, mostly in one massive cluster of Corruption that takes up 1/8th of the surface. Also in this world: a dungeon that reaches Hell, and two full-sized jungles side-by-side, literally a quarter of the map in length.

I once shot a bear in the eye with a bow on the first shot, cut it up, found another one, and shot it in the eye too. The collective pile of meat weighed more than my house.

Hell-reaching dungeons are normal.

My small prison area is complete.

Also visible in this shot: My brand new set of Necro Armor. Is it me, or does the set cause a periodic yellow tint for a fraction of a second every so often?

It just occured to me that bloodmoons are, in fact, quite romantic :P

Also, jumping around Terravania and smacking zombies and eyes around is fun.

Can't wait for goblin army to arrive :D Does someone knows if saving map during invasion turns it off? Cuz if not, I could then save and upload whatever part of castle I will have done so you guys can jump around it smacking goblins as well :P

How do you people feel about genning worlds and mapping them for health crystals near the surface?

Because there are like 3 health crystals that are in any way not a huge pain to get to on my map.
----------
ALSO, for those who doubt the power of Starfury, here's a little activity:
Name ONE THING more satisfying, not involving magma, than walking around with a water candle in corruption at night, and then unloading a full bar of mana in stars on everything, killing it all.
---------
In other news, just got the enchanted boomerang. Not as awesome as I was expecting. The sparkles are nice when exploring, but it doesn't do any more damage than an arrow on my gold bow or one sword strike. BUT it makes up for it in the fun of RUN FROM THE BOoMERANG. I've found that I can stay away for quite a while if I try hard enough.
----------
Also, progressing quite nicely. Have all gold weapons, Starfury, boomerang, copper armor set, 75 or so shurikens, tons of flame arrows. Starfury, Depth Meter, Red Balloon, Lucky Horseshoe. Lots of mana, and about 160 health.
Any advice on what else I need to get before I can beat some bosses up?

The fact that it doesn't use ammo is nice. Though its upgrade really makes it worth it.

Yes, but it makes up for the lack of ammo by making you wait for it to come back if you miss an enemy.

Still have to get to hell to get the stuff for the flamerang. Still haven't explored the stone layer much xD. Does the Flamerang make sparkles in the ground too?

...I suppose it's actually a decent speed, but it really depends on how far away your foe is and if you actually hit them.

I think I'll stick with it as my underground go-to weapon, due to the light creation and decent ranged damage..but I don't think it's as awesome as many people put it out to be.

Also the wiki says it can go through 1 block thick walls...I can't seem to do this. Was that fixed?

Blood moon + 5 feral claws + shadow armor + muramasa. But the Starfury is pretty awesome.

You have to be right up against the wall.

My favorite thing about the enchanted boomerang is the massive knockback it has. You can push meteor heads clear off the screen with it.

Actually I found out the trick is to dig during the day. There are much less meteor heads during that time.

I still remember the time a blood moon hit right as I stumbled upon a meteor. Oh god there were so many. *Shudders*

Interestingly, Armok's name actually originates from arm_ok, a variable in one of Toady's earlier games that kept track of how many of your arms weren't missing.
