"repairing" severed limbs via modding files?
« on: May 15, 2011, 01:07:01 am »

If I wanted to let's say, magically grow back a limb I lost in adventure mode, what file in my save would I modify to have that flag removed or whatever it is? ^^ yes I know it's cheating but I don't like missing fingers ;p

This isn't really my field, but I understand Runesmith has some functions that may be useful.

However, changing raw files will not let you add new parts to an adventurer, and there really aren't any other options. I'm actually not sure you can change their body plan after generation at all, as I had tried that before when I realized I'd made a mistake when modding a creature and failed to rectify it short of a regen. Other tags seem fully interchangable after generation.

Well, I think, if I read something somewhere rightly, you could temporarily change the raws to allow you to regrow parts, like a lizard. Don't know exactly how, though... A bit more complex than just making nerves heal.

EDIT: Besides, missing fingers are badass, and don't seem to affect adventurers in any way. :P
If it was a missing foot or something, however...

Well there are tags you can modify that will allow any and all tissues to repair themselves faster, including repair nerve damage, but limbs still dont grow back, which is what he's asking for. There are currently no tags for or in-game methods of regrowing a limb, and unfortunately no magic prosthetics either.

Oh, I can't wait for robotic arms and limb-regrowing spells. That would be the coolest thing ever.

tested and yes, removeing a body part does make the game restore severed limbs.
note that i tested this in fort mode.
i will now test if i can add back the body part i removed.
yes the guts do go back in but thay stay spilled,

I prefer to use DFusion in case my adventurer loses a limb or two.

Firstly, I target him or her and use /7, resurrect, which is an insta-kill
Secondly, I use /7 again, this time bringing him or her back again, in pristine condition!
Your adventurer will be fully functional, and fit for fighting once more!
