ach, I really want to get back into this game, but I can't because of the glitches.
I really like this game, but I have horrible framerate when I'm not in space. My graphics card doesn't agree with the game. I can play it on my laptop, but my parents won't be letting me after school starts again.
Get back into the game so I can read about failed B12 adventures and damage caused by glitches.

This is one of the games I could never bring myself to play but love to read about the misfortunes of those who do.

Well, awesomeness! My parents let me keep playing games on my laptop.

If anyone is interested in joining an empire, just look me up on the Hazeron forums. My username there is Sting_Auer, and the empire name is Pax Vires. There is a join password, so you can only get in if I invite you in-game or tell you the password. If you PM me, I can tell you what the password is.

I have an empire called the Orion Republic as well, and we're currently taking requests. I think I'd rather stay home anyways.

Actually, I think we have open immigration, so you may not need to request.

This game just hates me to death in general. I get the worst luck.

"Ohh I am part of an empire and I built a town! woo!... what you are not paying me? BOO!"

"Well got a space ship and it is time to build a city... what I can't get it to work? Boo!"

"What I am stranded on the planet forever? BOOO!"

Join my empire, then you won't have to go through the trouble of making cities and ships by yourself. You'll have the help of the other people in our empire.

Did they ever fix universities? They were rather useless except to upgrade things that couldn't upgrade on their own.

You can research any tech from a university so long as the university itself is at least the tech level of the thing you are trying to research. It's a bit more expensive and a bit slower to research at a university instead of the building itself, but it's more easier organization-wise

The issue is however that Universities only upgrade onto themselves.

Which means you cannot stack universities.

What do you mean?

Let me explain the research process.

Every time a research job is run, it creates a tech disk of the current level of tech. Universities can only produce tech disks that are equal to or lower than the tech level of the university.

There is a 1% chance every time a research job is completed for a tech disk of 1 level higher to be created. The universities will now produce tech disks of that level for that particular type of tech, assuming that the university is high enough tech level itself.

Yes but you cannot feed a university a level 4 road disk for example.

I believe you can if it is from your own empire.

On another note, why research roads? Just because?

You mean you don't want super sci-fi roads?

You don't actually get anything out of researching roads. Roads themselves, when built, don't have tech levels in the first place.

This is what I thought >_>

Most research jobs have no purpose at the moment.

Well, you need to upgrade most of your materials and factories to be able to build higher level space ships.

Yeah, most are required to get anything bigger than a gnat into space. Lessee, you need:

Mines
Farms
Wells
Electronics factories
Machine Shops
Plastic Factories
Refineries
Smelters
Computer Factories
And Power plants, I think.

Universities don't do anything special, but they do conglomerate your research so you can turn it off and on quicker, and change it much faster.
