Perhaps unsurprisingly, this was their last album. Too bad they never took off enough to go karaoke to. Ach.

All of Starship Velociraptor is amazing, but Settle It With a Swordfight is probably the most unabashedly campy power metal fun. I'm so glad that Johnathan Young is getting more traction with his originals, he doesn't deserve to be stuck singing covers of crappy popular songs forever.

Tango Serenoto de Schubert, apparently by gustavo montesano (I'd never actually paid attention to the musician, heh). One of the chillest classical arrangements I've heard in my life, I think. Been part of my main playlist for like... somewhere approaching two decades now or somethin'. Really should get around to scoping more of the artist's works...

Rush's Xanadu.
(https://youtu.be/SEuOoMprDqg?t=214 if you want to skip to the good part - it's a live show)

Primus does a mean cover of it, though.  They've been on a tour that's basically "play Rush's: Farewell To Kings", for reasons unexplained, plus a few extras.  And they came close to my town.

It's a good mood, chilling in a technically ('ighly) illegal parking spot, listening to a rocking album echo off the skyscrapers and also it's two blocks away.  This shit is special to my dad, but it's also pretty good in fact.  I got kinda into it.

Heh, for those on foot... okay so the whole Amphitheater (sic, apparently) was bordered by mesh fabric.  But as I walked towards the noise, I noticed a little but well-worn path from the sidewalk to the boundary.  And a glint of light.  A hole, the size of a thumbnail, through which one could observe the throng.
https://imgur.com/a/iqQLoIB

Couldn't stay long - the whole area was surrounded with cops.  I counted 3 parked vans and 2 parked cars running blinkers, with at least 4 more cars running around the perimeter as we left.  Like, jesus fuck.  In other words I didn't tarry, lest I draw attention to this tiny hole that offered a glimpse of the festivities.

Did some walking back and forth before returning to my dad's car.

Anyway, good time all around.
Except for those who are moshing, or otherwise enjoying yourselves.  I am extremely jealous and you're betraying the social contract, I will be talking to the admin after we all fucking die

For one reason or another, Youtube started recommending full albums to me.

Gregory and the Hawk is cool, Uplift Spice is very cool, and ☆24EFFECTS☆ is kind of taxing and also a trip, but not a bad one.
