Most cruel torture device
« on: April 01, 2011, 09:57:09 pm »

I recently had some trouble with alot of goblins, clogging traps and confronting my meager military. I survived, and with ALOT of prisoners i need vengeance on. I need the most gruesome torture device from the most sadistic dwarfs ever. (You, reader)

So far i have

Labyrinth
Make a game out of it and strip them of their weapons/dump them into a trap filled labyrinth that has changing paths (by using pressure pads on doors). Follow by pitting a bunch of war dogs/other creatures into the labyrinth.

Goblin stew
Pit/pond all of the goblins into a smooth floored hole. Pond some water in so they cant crawl out, but are swimming then pump magma under it until it reaches a low seething boil.

Goblin steak
Sell to the elves so they can enjoy a nice fillet of goblin.

Glass torture room.
A large room filled with dull glass spikes/corkscrews/serrated disks. (probably would get clogged.)

I prefer the idea of a silk farm.

Wait for it. There's also a chance the gobbo might or might not survive. Let the GCS shoot webs at them, but in order to enter and kill him, it must choose between two vertical bars that are controlled via pressure plates. One bar is controlled by the spider side, the other by the gobbo side. Link multiple plates to both gates.

Now, watch as the gobbos and spider scramble about, trying to find the combination that will either lock or close said bars. Eventually, the gobbo will be webbed tightly enough that the only thing controlling access will be the spider.

PROFIT!

Pit in a puppy on the spider set so as to reset the farm:D

What he said. Sacrifice them to the silken gods.

The problem with that is i don't have any GCS and im not about to open up the caverns again yet. The last thing i need is to go poking around a forgotten beast right now. That and its not particularly cruel. Preferablly what im looking for is a way to separate limbs/skin or cause the "Pain!" modifier to every limb.

Edit: Maybe when my military has healed up to the point where i feel safe guarding dwarfs long enough to plant cage traps.

A series of 2 z level falls. Build a large tower, set up a series of bridges surrounded by walls every two levels. Dig a pit under them, so that you can continue dropping them two levels. Pit them down onto the first bridge, then start pulling levers, dropping them two levels at a time. If you want to keep everything clean, have a couple levels where you pump water through to clean everything. You could even drown them for a bit if you design it right.

It has five mouths full of treacherous teeth, enormous clear wings, and ferocious blue eyes. Beware its icy breath! Ustxu was associated with oceans, glaciers, boats, and murder.

If you find a forgotten beast, just toss all your goblin prisoners at it. If it has a necrotic syndrome, all the better.

Heheh, i was just about to ask "Is there a way i can get them to necrotize?"  This is exactly the kind of thing im looking for!
Thanks! :D

Strip em bare, and pit them all behind a wall of fortifications or a channel. Then station a single marksdwarf at a time, unskilled and armed with weak bolts, to train up on them.
Bonus points if you first kill a couple of them via splatting drops and turn the resulting bones into the bolts your marksdwarves use.

Labyrinth. Make it so that some paths just lead to a slower death.

Set up a dwarven science facility. Name a Dwarf GLaDoS, asign them to control multiple levers. Make sure the path leads to the dwarf in a very roundabout way, and include many, many traps along the way. Make sure the dwarf is weak. Then, right at the exit...make a row of spiked traps attached to a DIFFERENT lever outside the science facility, set to repeat.

I have another one - put fully armed gobbos in individual automated danger rooms with flooding etc (utilizing a series of water repeaters for the spikes and flooding) maybe create a series of room with ever more spears etc, when the gobbos start dying off, rebuild that room with slightly less and find the max point they can sustain. If gobbos run low, rotate them from the weakest rooms to the stronger ones, and rebuild the weaker one with more spears.

When they are trained and battle ready, put them in lever-linked cages in a specially-designed Trade Depot building, and wait for Spring.

After bloodshed ensues, recage, rinse and repeat 'training'.

I'm so building this in my fortress.

Is training a swarm of goblin axe lords really wise? They already cut through most of my war dogs (poor little meat shields, ah well there going to make a fine stew).

Well, it'll be great fun. Just imagine, the goblins rebelling against their enslavers! Freedom for every greenskin!

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! Now just to wait for their mother-in-laws to show up and attack my fort! Can cage traps hold them?
