Okay, there goes my second attempt at an RTD xD
Any comments on how I should fix things if they are problematic ?

I really like that choosing your crew idea. In fact, that'd probably be about as ideal as you could get for an series of linked games.

...also I have X-COM on the brain, so it occurs to me that choosing your squad could work too.

Since I will probably stop my current RTD( Due to problems with managing and player input( mostly managing stuff)) and the other is almost finished, I will probably start a new one soon. currently I'm torn between 3 ideas. each will have 6-8 players.

Roll to be a History monk

This will be based on the Discworld universe, and the thief of time in particular. You character can be any of Discworld races (actually not any, but quite a lot). Examples include
-Human( Comes in many flaveors: Ankh-Morkporkian, Agatean, Klatchian ....
-Dwarf( 2 flavours: city dwarves and Mountain dwarves. All very stereotypic. Thought there are male and female dwarves, they all wear so much clothes that they are indescernible. Every dwarf is considered a he)
-Bogeymen (Hides behind doors and such, hard to kill)
-Gargoyles( Made from stone, move rather slowly, very patient)
-Golems (Clay statues powered by words in their head. Take out the words and they stop. What the words say determines how they act.)
-Nac Mac Feegle (also called Picties, or the Wee Free men. Blue and redhaired. Pretty strong. Rather short. Like fighting,stealing and drinking. Not very smart. Male only race.( +-Females exsist, and they lead the clans, so not letting you play those. Actually you can, but don't expect to get an entire clan to commandeer)
-Trolls ( made of rock, diamond theeth and Silicon brains. Get smarter when the temperature gets lower. Dumb at room temperature)
-Vampires (Immortal. Can't stand light, garlic, holy water, holy symbols. If exposed they turn into ash, turning back when it touches blood. Only killable with a decapication and a stake through the heart.)
-Werewolves( Can change between a wolf and man form. Forced to change by a full moon. Only killable with fire or silver)
-Zombies ( Death that continued living. They die when their body does, since it no longer heals. (It doesn't rot either, and sewing limbs back on makes them function again

You are all apprentices in an enclosed valley somewhere near the Hub, studying to become a history monk. ( They have a big book with how things should happen, and make sure they do).+-
They can, among other things, manipulate time.Knowledge of the books is not required, but useful.( Note, If you haven't read the books, please tell me so. I will try to avoid spoilers).

An as yet of unnamed RTD with a plot I can't tell you about. Futuristic, and set on a spaceship. Possible kinda RP heavy.

You wake up with a hell of a headache. Can't remember what happened yesterday either. Actually, you can't remember anything. You open your eyes and look at your surroundings. You seem to be in some sort of metal box. There are lot of tubes and other thingies hanging around, and there's a small window right in front of you. Outside you can see a lot of similair boxes, rows and rows of them. There must be at leasts thousands of them. Suddenly the capsule shakes and starts moving. The whole thing creaks and shakes, and the ride isn't very comfortable. The ride seems to go on for hours, the capsule finally stops and lowers through an opening. After a whole lot clicks and beebs the doors open and you can see your surroundings. It dropped you of in an undecorated room, which is completly empty save for the capsule and a small table with some clothes on. Instinctively you know that these are your clothes.

Suddenly a soft voice is heard through the speakers. Hello and welcome aboard the A.F.S Oddysea. We hope you enjoyed your cryogenical sleep. You might be suffering from one or more of the following side effects of cryogenic freezing: Dizzyness, headaches, temporary memory loss, loss of orientation, Speech problems. If any of these problems persists for more than 24 after leaving cryogenical sleep, please consult your assigned medical supervisor. Suddenly the soft voice is replacedby a more metalic and certainly robotic one.The Crew of the A.F.S. Oddysea appologises for the inconvenience, but we had to interupt your sleep due to technical problems. There might also have been some problems with the lifesupport systems, which might have resulted in physical or mental injury so you best see a doctor. However, the chance that you actually got Serious brain damage is very small. You have been awakened because you 've been deemed the most experienced people to serve as replacements for the Primary exploration squad. Now please pick up your belongings and clothes and proceed towards Landing Bay C1. ERROR: AREA Quarantined. Proceed to Landing Bay D3. ERROR: Area Quarantined. The computer continues like this for a while, untill it eventually cuts out, leaving you alone in the cold metal room. 

Roll to be a submarine commander The mechanics would work too for a spacebased game, though the added complexity of taht would require me to fit all of you on one ship.

Slightly futuristic, about 40-50 year in the future. Quite complicated mechanics to set up, but will get easier after that.

The powers of the old have fallen, dissapeared into the seas with their Coastal cities. Vast sways of land have become infertile, and many ae struggling to survive. Yet out of the ashes of the Old world a new world is born, with new rulers and new powers. But not all is well though, resources are running short, and tensions are increasing rapidly. Not wanting to openly declare war, all nations use stealth and trickery to achieve their goals. Most of the worlds remaining resources are hidden beneath the sea, and in those dark depths state of the art submarines fight their battles. Recently you gained control of one of these boats.

Features:
-3D movement( A bit, you can go up and down).
-Subsystem health thingy.( Your submarine will be divided into multiple parts, which can be hit and damaged.)
- Completly free submarine design.
-Hull breaches

Added more descriptions and suchlike.

I think this is an excellent idea, could be tricky to do justice though (TP deserves it). I probably wouldn't join though as I don't have the motivation or time for anything particularly complicated right now, what with two rtds and actual other stuff too.

Hrm, thinking over the wound system for Hyrulian (and technically Eternal at he same time), what do I do with burn wounds? I'm not entirely certain.

And someone is obviously going to blow themselves up at some point.

Burn wounds could be situational penalties. Hand burn? -1 to doing [x type of thing] with your hands.

Extensive burns would also be extremely painful, more so if they're touched.  Any time you're hit, you have to roll to avoid being stunned by the pain?

Minor burns, 50% chance of -1 to some rolls.
Burns, -1 to some rolls.
Extreme burns, -1 to rolls, plus 25% chance to be completely paralyzed by pain when said appendage is used.

Hmm, I think I like it. Possibly. I think it needs a trial by fire to see whether it's good.

I suppose burns and extreme burns would cauterize slash wounds too.

Now that I think about it, isn't HP supposed to effectively be blood lost?

Should broken bones and burns prevent your health from recovering? Or maybe just let you do it at a reduced rate...

That'd make them debuffs, not wounds per se. I could see broken bones, at least, reducing max health while active, though.

Healing rate adjustments work better when there's a measurable, default rate to affect. Does Hyrulian RTD even have that?

I was thinking about, no injuries is 1d8 per turn, with burns and broken bones is 1d4.

Or maybe just a flat rate of 4 per turn, no randomness involved, down to 2 with bones and burns

Blunt damage does flat hp damage and cutting is basically a DoT instead of direct damage. Burns are similar to bones, but with a paralyzing pain effect at major levels.

Anyway, aside from PvP, Dariush pissing off the GM and the Kokiri, and one guy rolling in his own pentacle fueled wounds until he died in the kokiri forest for nine turns, there hasn't actually been any combat until now.

Yeah , that's kinda the reason why I'm not sure about doing it. Still, the whole world fits an Rtd quite well.

The Gods had gathered around the Game table. It was quite large, and next to it laid several dice. It was not a normal table however, and it showed a perfect image of the Disc, which glides majestically through the void on the shoulders of four elephants, standing on the Great A'Tuin. If you looked good, you could see the Cori Celesti, and on it's peak Dunmanifestin, the home of the gods. Really good observers could even look through the tiny windows, and see themselves peering towards the map,which would net them a headache for their trouble. The table was surrounded by the more important Gods of the Disc. There 's Blind Io, chief of the Gods. There's Offler the Crocodile God, one of the older and widely followed Gods of the Disc. There's Fate, who always wins in the end. Next to him sits Destiny. And there's of course the Lady, "She who shall never be named" who's looking across the table with a faint smile..

Fate is the first to speak "So, whom of you wanted to play a game." There's little response from the Gods, untill finally Blind Io responds, his eyes flying around the table."It depends on which game you want to play. Besides, everyone knows you never lose." One of the nameless gods¹ in the crowds shouts: "Yeah, why can't we just play a game of Snakes and Ladders, whitout cheating this time." Fate quickly calmed the crowd and answered:"What I have in mind is a game of Champions and Heroes. Each God has one player, whitout any previous acts of heroism, and beyond that it's just them and the dice."
