They... they worship a goat?
« on: March 26, 2011, 08:47:28 pm »

My dwarves worship a goat! Why do they worship a goat?! That doesn't even make sense!

Although, he is associated with some of my favorite things. Do they always worship things this ridiculous?

Or maybe there's a god who's just completely insane and sends you to Detroit, Michigan in a new body if you ever utter the name "Pat Sajak".

Sadly, there's IRL precedent for this.  See also:  the golden calf.

You could have berries on the rocks and the dwarves would say it was "berry gneiss."
You should die horribly for this. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

A male mountain goat made of steel with star rubies for eyes and ithyphallic genitals erupting with magma is an awesome deity.

Don't anger Imbat or he'll set fire to your booze stock pile.

I've never seen one deity associated with so many things

My dwarves worship a naked mole dog god, Idos. Naked mole dog god of nature, the sun, fire, and metals. My Chief architect and designer Ushat worships him, and the dwarf goddess of light, rainbows, sky, moon, night, nightmares, and dreams, Nar Colornails. He's only produced one statue of Idos and nothing of Nar. Personally I think she's the one you'd want to appease most, seeing as how she apparently controls the night/day cycle, the moon, and can give you/let you have insanity-inducing nightmares. It rains a lot here in Rumor, and I like to think she lets the moon shine through the clouds at night and show rainbows to let the dwarves know she's happy.

That goat is the dwarfiest deity ever, with the possible exception of Armok.

I would have nightmares if that was my God. And don't get me started on my Dwarves...

Had a female bat diety of the mountains and caverns. I like bats, and they're dwarfy in their own right (very small, live in darkness, sleep in caverns, severely underestimated by the populace) so, I didn't mind. Hoary marmots, however... for some reason, I see them a lot.
