Zombie Awards
« on: March 20, 2011, 08:35:06 pm »

In ZA you play as a movie actor in the 'Zombie-Film Industry'. An actor may create characters, based on widely known horror stereotyped roles, then star in as many zombie movies as he wants as an 'hero' (survivor) or a 'villain' (walk-on actor playing a zombie). Such movies represent a multiplayer 'game-in-the-game' that is set in small city during a global zombie apocalypse, when neither social structures nor forms of local self-organization exist. Each player moves his own characters in a short film (3 real days) or a feature-length film (6 days) with no script: playing the game represents creating the story. Characters (and then actors) gain experience and fame shooting films (surviving to them) and ZombieAwards are periodically appointed to best actors (best male/female leading/supporting role, best villain role...). While characters are likely to die during a movie, actors gain experience in acting out specific roles such that new characters will have more chances of surviving movies. The actors' main goal is to gain fame and fortune. Beta started in Feb 2010

This seems like the kind of semi-ironic thing L4D and then later L4D2 did, with the movie posters you'd see at the start of the level with the name of the film it was meant to represent. (AKA Swamp Fever)

Not sure if I'd like this though.

Welp, lets see if this is worth all of the threads(1) made about it.
Edit: Not too bad, actually.

This seems good, and at a rate of 20 AP every half hour, like it will go faster than most other BBGs.

Since the other thread was locked...

Trying this, but it seems very unfinished. I've mostly been wandering around empty, abandoned buildings that are barricaded but let me enter anyway. I've spent nearly 20 action points searching in police stations, hardware stores, hotels and a warehouse, but I've yet to find anything. Haven't seen any zombies, and all I have is a pair of scissors. I had a whistle earlier, but as a cheerleader apparently my strongest stat "luck" allows me to jump out windows with a decreased chance of dropping items so I figured I'd gvie it a try and lost the whistle. And so far that's about the most exciting thing that's happened in the game.

Am I missing something or is this just a lousy, unfinished game?

No, you just need to get to the area's where ther are alot of survivors/zombies. I remember awhile back I happened across a prison under siege by zombies, was pretty fun at the time. Perhaps us Bay12ers can meet up somewhere?

Current Status: Sitting in an abandoned bank praying the bot zombies don't find me. They're going to find me, but I can hope, can't I?

It seems zombies can't open doors.
Or at least I guess you have to be a certain level of zombie to open doors. Anyway, I'm currently working on a complete map of the city after being told to find the Public Library in my end sequence quest and spending days looking for it.
Edit:
Spoiler: Massive Map (click to show/hide)
