idk if it's still around, but in searing gorge there's a huge underground fortress which is reminiscent of what you would see in dwarf fortress

The Searing Gorge fortress is Blackrock Depths (BRD).

The Searing Gorge fortress is Blackrock Depths (BRD).

Nah, he's talking about the pit mine that dominates the center of Searing Gorge.  Blackrock Depths is the Dark Iron Dwarf capital under Blackrock Mountain.

Dragon Age's Dwarves always struck me as a little bit... odd. Like they had less brain between their eyeballs than normal.

The thing that struck me as odd about them when I first encountered them was that they didn't have any accent.
