Ships with an active tank never have a lot of EHP, my PvE Loki only got around 30k as well (shield fit). Tengus can get a lot of EHP. Goonswarm wouldn't field Tengu fleets if they were paperthin.
In PvE you can probably permarun a med shield booster (well, my loki can't. But almost, especially with the AB off.). And because of your high resists that is enough. You'd never fit a shield extender with an active tank, because that slot is better used for a shield boost amplifier (the t2 module is quite good here) or more resists. Or utility.
Tengus can have an awesome tank, as far as I know they are the no. 1 choice for soloing c3 WHs. Legions can do it as well.

Do you switch the EM Ward out according to your enemies?

Maybe you could try without it and add either a web or a target painter for more applied damage.

You also don't really need the DCII on a PvE-boat. Though I am not sure what would be a good alternative for a missile boat (with turrets you'd take a tracking enhancer, but that is not yet affecting missiles, is it?). If you don't want to spend the money on a CN BCS you could even fit a CPU mod.

t3 where introduced at the same times wormholes where, and there is a reason for this.
wormoles limit the maximum mass of ships that can pass through in two ways: once they limit the maximum mass a ship can have to enter them, and they also have a maximum mass they will support before they collapse.
now per mass, nothing quite beats a t3, especially if it comes to tank and survivability.

also, t3 are the only ships that can fit interdiction nullifers witch will make them immune to warp interdiction bubbles. these bubbles can only be used in null sec and w-space.

the third funktion that makes t3 unique is the ability to fit expanded probes, a covops cloak AND enough tank to tackle a ship and actually hold it long enogh untill your buddys warp in - or distroying that carebare solo as t3 maintain considerable dps even in cloaky configurations.

however- if you do not need any of these features, you will find better suited ships for lower isk and sp prices, and without the risk of loosing skillpoints if your ship blows up.

tl:dr:  if you do not have a good reason to use a t3, do not use a t3.

My Tackle-Loki has horrible DPS. :D
With cloak, a probe launcher, and an armor tank it has around 120 DPS.
But hey, 120k EHP and 6 medslots to keep ppl in place/move around quickly.

Not sure if that's aimed at me, but just in case, no I do not switch out the EM ward. This setup is used in WH's, which is also the reason for the DC2. The DC gives resist to shield, armor, and struct, and doesn't have a stacking penalty with the other mods.

When I am in C1's I use a target painter instead of the amp for increased damage application.

Ah, I forgot it was for WHs, not missions.

And I know what a DC II does and would never fit one on a shield mission boat. :D

Due to an unfortunate series of events and a lack of understanding of some of the new probe mechanics on my part, I am currently lost probeless in wormhole space. Well, guess I always wanted to camp among the stars, woohoo!

I thought you could not loose your drones anymore?

I hope your clone is not very expensive. Or that you have nice neighbours. I once got 200mil because I helped a fleet out of a WH. But those were BS.

What a coincidence, so did I! Hence my predicament :P

Just +4 learning implants. 100mill isnt pretty to lose, but I've already got some spares stashed in a station because I knew this would happen sooner or later. Though since I'm not playing much these days anyways, I think I'll just stick around until either I get lucky and someone gives me probes or I get bored/popped.

IIRC, you can't "lose them" in that if you leave, then jump back to them, they'll immediately become yours again instead of having to go scoop them all.  But they don't automatically return to your ship when you initiate a warp or anything like that.

What I had heard was that they return to you when they time-out, and so I just forgot about them while doing other wormhole shenanigans. At one point I had to logout and only came back after the next downtime, only to realize that I did not have them and that they were not in space anymore to reconnect to. An easily avoidable problem if I had made sure that what I had heard was correct before logging out or even just thought of getting a second batch of probes with me (which obviously I hadn't because I thought I wouldn't lose them with the new mechanics :P )

Always carry spares. Message me ingame (Both Tenhr and Tenhrwppe just in case) and I will see if my corp is lucky enough to be connected to your WH.
