I enjoyed Crysis, to be honest.
And I ran it on a P4, 2 gigs of memory and an ATI Radeon 9800.
So, suck it, monster specs.
I appreciated the open approach to many areas. All FPS are corridor shooters, but Crysis at least tried to give you options. The Super Suit gives you the illusion of being very powerful, and it's a lot of fun to say "i'm going to explode the bottom of this building, super jump to the top, murder the guys up there, then go stealth and run into the jungle when reinforcements come."
The first quarter of the game is good. The second quarter of the game is very different, but in a good way IMO. The third quarter of the game is where it really ramps up the visuals and the cinematic fights. Unfortunately, the end of the game is terrible, like it is in many FPS when 60 foot tall bosses aren't fun to fight or spend an entire level dealing with.
Still, amazing looking aliens and flying enemies, zero gravity, good audio, good effects, a decent meta-thing going with the suit.....ON SALE, I think Crysis is still worth buying, especially now that almost anyone can enjoy it cranked up.
And on that note, $9.99 for ~15 gigs of game sounds like a pretty good deal. I think I'll buy.
