That worked exactly none times when we tried using it during MC beta 1.8 bukkit. It might work now, who knows, but I wouldn't count on that.

Not sure what we're all staring at, but I can't resist a good awkward stare.

This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

I'd like some clarification on the stareification myself.

Ah. I tried to run something but no one hopped in. Had to work today so I didn't stick around too long. Pretty exhausted today... lugged in several-hundred-pound entertainment center up a few flights of stairs by myself, since my roommate wasn't feeling particularly helpful. Perhaps we can do something later tonight; I'll post if so.

Otherwise, happy Mother's Day to all of those who weren't cloned and grown in a test tube! Get off the internet and get ready to do something for your maternal parental unit!

Fair enough! Looking forward to it! Also Soli, the MCSG (Minecraft Survival Games and the same people who made the Hunger Games Map, basically it's another one.) people made another map, it's a big city in ruins, kinda fun, I played a few matches on the official servers. We might be able to see if we can all get together maybe a group, try to get on there together, and then have some sort of emblem to state who is who. It'd be fun!

Found some time to cobble together a subterranean challenge map I'd be interested to try out with you guys, if you're interested. We could run it something like the 404 Challenge, where we have a pool of respawns to use up, and try to survive and thrive underground.

Spoiler: Screenshots: (click to show/hide)

It's a sprawling cavern complex, similar to what you'd get if you rendered default MC biomes in the style of the Nether. Though trees and natural sunlight can be found, it's pretty rare. To remedy this, there's an optional chest with some starting lumber and saplings not far from the start location. Also, note that the terrain was only generated out to about -500 and +500 in all directions, so anything outside that will revert to vanilla MC terrain. Still, since the caverns wind around and overlap, you probably won't get that far unless you try to.

** For best effect, play it on Moody lighting, with a Fog Distance of Short or Normal

Map Download, if you'd like to check it out.

You guys think you'd be up for this? We could get started as soon as we can snag a server from Aklyon anyone willing to host it.

I'd be up for playing it. Looks like fun!

How possible is mining out the ceiling to get an area of sunlight? Is that kind of not in the spirit of the challenge?
