Things never end well. Take the oil war for example. The United Nations broke up, the commonwealth of independent states broke up, the european union broke up, the tribal empire broke up, The Peoples United Empire of China died from the inside out, The free people of north africa broke up violently. All over a crude black substance that has value as a fuel. If only we listened to the UN fleet, and gotten out into the universe and mined elsewhere. But no, It seems as if we were hard coded with the want to die out as a species.
News says that Italy, under leadership under someone else than the pope, is trying to reclaim this mess. Last news from america is that the majority of southern north america is revolting against the moral-lacking sodom and gamheorra istic soceity of the United States. Even more of the land is taken By the last minute player Global Defense initiative. Noone expected them, at least after the crisis of 2030 ended, the Beast killed, and all of the nations of earth returning to their own territories, thus making the GDI effectively useless. Even Britian, The New Headquarters for the UN, Is experiencing a rather nasty revolt.
Here at the commonwealth, however, we just try to salvage what's left of the former soviet union. There's an isolated outpost to the north which may contain some fellow comrades. I'll send the 101st, the 48th perybim, and the sickle regiment to scout out the area.
